Default I have a spare PCM wire after PCM swap!!

Thanks to all who helped me re-arrange the pinouts from my '98 pcm to my 2001 pcm.
I have one wire that now has no home. It's the gray wire from the generator. The red one has a home but the gray is not listed in the '99 and up pinout chart. Any ideas??
Thanks, Tom.

Does anyone know the differences between '98 and '99 pcm wiring regards the alternator?
Does a '99 and up alternator have a gray wire??
Should I just leave it dis-conected? I'm not sure if it really matters.

My 98 Helms manual states vin K, & G both use pin B, red wire, is "generator status output."

My 00 Helms manual states pin B, red wire, is "Generator Regulator Reference Voltage."

My motor is at my shop right now. (I am at home). Otherwise I would just go out and look. Sorry not very much help.

But, 99+ does not have the gray wire...but according to my 98 pub neither does it

Thanks Doc.
I have a crate motor so that could explain the difference.
It runs with just the red connected so I'll leave it off for now. I just can't think what it would be for.
If you have a look when you get back to work that would be appreciated.
Tom.

Don't know if it helps much but I have a 99 T/A and I just put my motor back in. Did all of the work myself. On my alternator plug there id only one wire coming out of it and it is red.

try to hook up a test light or something to the wire and turn the car on as soon as the pump turns off the light goes out. thus my guess it is a fuel pump primer.
