Default Can someone crarify hptuners "credits" for me

I have been reading and I guess I am not getting it.
I am planning on getting the Professional version for $649.
You get 8 credits, correct?
I read this statement - you use 6 credits for the first vehicle, which leaves you with 2 credits.
I also read this statement - you can tune 4 vehicles

I paraphrased, so can some clear this up for me. The whole "single license" or "unlimited" situations.

I had LS1edit split between 3 people along time ago.

Thanks, James.

Yes, you get 8 credits total upon inital purchase. Each VIN locked LS1 platform will use up two credits, or if you want to license one complete model/year LS1 platform it will only be 6 credits (you get an upfront discount vs. buying credits for each individual VIN). In the first example, one VIN locked license (2 credits used), you can use the remainder 6 credits to license three more VIN locked LS1 platforms, so you have four total VIN Locked licenses on your cable. In the second scenario (one model/year license), this leaves you 2 credits to use for a single VIN locked license or enhancement (1-Bar MAF, RTT, etc ...). If your friends also have 2002 model F-Bodies, then the single model/year license will work better for you, it leaves you with 2 credits to use as you see fit, plus you would be able to tune any other F-body that is a 2002. Clear?

I think I got it.
2 credits per vin or theoretically if you had 30 credits (5 years @ 6 credits/year), you could tune unlimited number of f-bodies.
Is this it?

If I run an LM1 base kit, can I run a gauge mounted in the car and still be able to transfer the LM1 between cars. Does anyone do this with some kind of quick connect?
Thanks.

Yes you can. If you purchase the XD16 it is a simple hot/ground and serial (headphone) connection that plugs directly into the LM1 for easy transportation.

thank you...how about just hooking up a regular AFR gauge, like AEM or autometer?

You can do that as well but you would have to tie it into the outputs of the LM1 itself.
