Default Coil Dwell Tables finally !!!

I talked with TC for a while about this and they have added ththis to the JET/TC software, now has coil dwell tables avialable for editing. How does this affect you, you ask. easy you can now crank up the fire power of your factory ignition system by cranking up the dwell. !!!!! I just tested this out on a SC ls1 and it stopped the plug snuffing problem cold ! no more fancy coils !

they are also going to be adding some other stuff in the near future as these things are proven and tested I will let you know !

These tables have been around for years in other software packages.

Really years you say ??? hhmm How come my 2005 copy of the software doesn't ?? seems odd to keep such and old versio around but i did. I also as a habit back those versions up so in case an update goes bad its not all bad. Must have been recently in the last yr or so. I haven't had alot of need to mess with dwell up until this damn SC corvette its pretty rediculous. I wonder If its time to create a matrix of sort with all the tables of various peice of software and get the names commonized for all the users ?? I'd be willing to do all the GM engineering style translations. This way we can see who has what features.

its 2007 if you havent noticed

FWIW i just went back and loaded my very first beta version of 2.0.0 back from 8/26/05 and it had all 10 of those tables so you mustve had a version of 1.7 or earlier not to have those tables.

BTW im on version 2.1.15 now so there have been dozens upon dozens of revisions, added tables, added support, etc. since then

So what does this mean in real terms. Can you control how long the coil sparks? I'm guessing this isn't as important for a n/a application as it would for forced induction.

You can control the charging time of the coil which in turn can produce a hotter spark. there are limits to how much charging time you can run but there is alot available.

Yeah version 1.7 and back does not have these tables and looking at the stuff i have there are some things mislabled and incorectly calculated. I am 100% the TC stuff is correct becuase it came from a power on high if you know what i mean.

I am sure since i have both that overall the TC software has more tables and options but it would be nice for people contemplating buying either to have a comparison chart to check them all out. EFI live,Vs JET Vs HP tuners Vs Tunercat. along with vehicle support.

Are you being paid to advertise for tunercat? Everything you are typing out in this thread reads like an advertisement.

Riight, since you are using a 2+ year old version of our software and are just now seeing spark dwell in TC now your sure that TC has more tables, Give me a break

Mr. Collins,

Please take this for whatever it is worth, but you'd get a lot farther in this world if you'd stop being so damn condescending. All of your posts come off like you know everything about everything. I already think you are a complete idiot, and you just keep on building that belief with every post you make. I'm sure you still believe that the FAST 90 intake is a complete piece of crap too due to harmonics.

As stated, HPTuners has had that for quite some time. I'm sure Live has as well. If you want to stir the pot...fine. But you aren't doing anything constructive.

Why not? The HPT/EFILive comparo was just updated and should be fairly accurate. Once it's up, Sean, why not download it and add the Jet/TC info. All this data can be compiled into one big happy comparison showing what everybody has to offer.

Sean - Does Jet or TC have demo version I can download? If so, would you mind posting the link?

No but I will put up the complete table list for one OS just pick one that popular say the 2000-03 F and y cars should be fairly standard.

No I don't advertise or am in anyway compensated for there product other then test files first runs etc. I believe in there product have used it for many yrs and have a wretched hatred for HP tuners due to how the company cam to exist. It started out as freeware off the www.diy-efi.org website.

http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/obd2/
http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/obd2/
http://pcm.dxsoftware.com/forum

these were the begginings of HP tuners. There is a whole story I won't eloborate on it but it started out there and morphed into HPtuners.
