Doh, you don't happen to have one rated for 4.5A @ 20V (that's what my inspiron 8200 takes, probably why it's not on the list)?

Does this have the stupid under voltage battery circuit cutoff?

I find most of these D/C to A/C units monitor the incoming DC and trips the unit off when it feels the voltage is too low.
In most cases esp if fired up before car is started the unit shuts down and does not auto function when voltage is what they want to see and thus screws up cold start PCM recording.
I see that underload circuit too sensitive and would like to see a unit that either ignores battery voltage level or auto turns on once incoming DC is at the level unit likes.

As long as the input is 11VDC, you should be good to go.

My battery voltage is always a tad on the low side w/o the car running, and it has worked fine for me so far...

And for the geeks out there like me, I checked, and this adapter does use the car's (-) as ground. Some adapters of this style 'float', and can actually cause a potential difference between your laptop and the car (which can blow up electronics). This one works fine.

My inverter is a 7" x 7" x 3" brick, to which I attach my laptop power cord - that has its own 2" x 6" x 4" brick - which amounts to 10 feet of wire and 2 bricks on the floor. Plus ya hafta carry them around sometimes too...

This adapter is about 4" x 3" x 1" and plugs right in to my laptop. One small cord.

I drag my laptop everywhere. This thing is great. It's just annoying to drag out the inverter, and the power cord, get it all hooked up, etc.

That's the difference. Convenience and size.

This is a great deal, George, thanks for offering it up! On your list under Dell, it simply states 'Latitude'. Does this mean this unit will work with all models of the Latitude line? I've got a C600, specifically. Thanks!

I REALLY didn't want to put a big old inverter in the truck and now I don't have to even if the battery in the laptop is dead....NO PROBLEM.

I have a Compaq 2110US, which is on the list, but the AC adapter I have sez 19V/3.95A. The specs your post say 3.5A max. On the back of my Persario 2110US, where the adapter plugs in, it sez 75W. I looked at the ones on ebay and they say 70W max. Am I missing something or will this be a borderline adapter and possibly cause me problems?

It's hard to say... I have a Compaq 2525US which requires 19v/4.7A, and the mobile adapter works fine on mine. I would think the worst that would happen is that the fuse would blow if you use it for an extended period of time (I've never used mine in the car for more than 15-20 minutes...).

BTW, I have plenty of these in stock right now... Thanks to those that have purchased one. I need all the help I can get financially right now since I'm still on employed part time and have a motor to rebuild.
