FAST 170401 or Innovate LM-1 wideband?
I'm seriously considering a wideband for my car, so I can take the next step as far as tuning goes.
I'd rather use a handheld, self contained unit which is why I have narrowed it down to these two. They're both right around $300, and both seem to be comparable as far as what they do and don't do...
I'm just wondering if anyone has used either, or both, and what they like/dislike about it.
I did a SEARCH, but most comments I saw were general and not very specific.

The LM2 was supposed to come out around the beginning of the new year and we are still waiting.
Get the LM1/LM2.
If your car is as serious as indicated by your sig you need to have one of these!

I emailed you back last night btw...
They both seem to have the same options, and seem to be priced near identical ($275-$300), but most people have pointed me towards the LM-1.

Personally, I think it is because Innovate has good software and you can readily expand the system to monitor all your vitals from thier software.
They have tons of choices for gauges, too. I used to use the display on the LM1 but upgraded to the awesome X16. I can see if I am too rich or too lean just by the colors it is flashing out of the corner of my eye.
The X16 gauge can be programed to display results from any of their modules not just AFR.

I heard today (from local authorized Innovate dealer) that LM-1's were discontinued, but there may be a deal on LM-2's near the end of the month?
Anybody know if there's any truth to that?
p.s. Thanks for head's up on gauge. I wasn't planning on using an add-on gauge, but your reasons make me re-think that choice for sure.

I wouldn't buy a pencil from Innovate, it probably wouldn't work right.
I bought my LM1 new from a speed shop, it broke after maybe 3 hours of use, they fixed it, I used it again, it broke, they fixed it, I used it again had a whole day set aside to tune a TBI truck and burn chips, 5 minutes into this it broke again.
Each time I had to send it back it was a big deal, they had to be sure it's not breaking because of something I was doing. Well they fixed it free all three times, and btw it was a different problem all three times.
Post anything about it in their forum and I'll be damned if you're not the biggest idiot in the world and using it wrong.
I had it for 6 months. Last time i got it back I about gave it away on ebay and gave the buyer all the info and repair orders.

Nothing. For tuning I have HP Tuners for my cars and Moates APU1 for my truck. I'll admit it was nice to be able to see what you're doing when you make a change. But when you plan your day off to tune something and your wideband takes a **** 5 minutes into it for the 3rd time in 5 -6 months, it kind of ruins the whole tuning experience for a while.
I'll run a 3/8 fuel line from the exhaust to my nose for tuning before I use another Innovate product.

I also use HPTuners, but mine's an older version that doesn't have the ability to datalog actual wideband readings like the newer versions.
