RE: AAA

My flat hood 2001 Trans Am has the AAA code. Tint doesn't show up as an option or in the standard list on the sticker. Could it be the "Custom bucket seats w/ adjustable lumbar supports"? The only other options are Hurst and chrome wheels.

The drivers seat is power, but the passenger seat is manual.

Finally finished installing the torque arm and the new bushing in the clamshell........what a PAIN, installing the missing top bolt was the major issue, but we got it.

ran the new power cable, installed the distribution block and wired up the new subwoofer amp, got to get a new inline fuse holder, I thought mine was setup to have removable parts to convert from 4 gauge to 1/0 but that is not the case, still need to run all the wiring for the 4 channel amp.

Also change my turn signal flasher to find it didnt fix my broken signal and then I took the bulb out that didnt work turned it around plugged it back in and it worked. Sometimes its a simple fix on these cars usually not though

Got tired of the rough ride of a lowered car so I set it back up to stock height.

So today I decided to tackle the noisy headlight on my 1995 Pontiac Banshee

Was super easy to get out. 10mm long wrench and a socket...
So here it is on the table

Pop the top off with a skinny flathead

An yep...Gear is wiped out..on both sides

In goes this new CNC'd hard coated aluminum gear

After epoxy...I used a spray paint can lid and my DeWalt screw gun to weight it down while drying..

Will reinstall tomorrow. Have some Miller High Life beers that need some attention for now..

If you got the kit with the metal t-brace, there is no need to wait more then an hour before reinstalling.

2 weeks ago it was running/driving. Today, the transmission, rear suspension & rear axle, along with the gauge cluster are out.

Gauges have been sent out for repair, and gear stuff should be done this week. I hope to have put it back together by Halloween, if the cluster gets back.

Next up is cleaning the underside of the car. I bought a steam machine for the job.

New rear calipers, rotors, GM OEM pads and brake lines are going on. I cleaned and lubed the rod ends on the PHB and LCA's, and cleaned the suspension pieces too.

Are these signs of chassis flex.

1. Crack inside of trans tunnel bolts on pass side.

2. Wrinkles in heat shield where it screws to panhard brace:

I bought the car new and it has never been in an accident. It has however done a lot of autoX and HPDE (wore out 48 tires in <46k miles).

Passenger side headlight motor finally got here. Put it in, so glad to have both of my lights working again. Replaced the driver side one in June so now they're both new. Lets see if these ones last 15 years like the old ones.

I would say yes.

I would say you need the three point subframe and tubular tunnel brace that all bolt together from the good folks at UMI.

Thanks. I did a bunch of cleaning on it today but ended up cutting my pinky finger bad on the heat shield under the gas tank. Still have the big flatish areas to clean, but the hard parts have all had a good first pass.

Also cleaned all the gunk off the rear end and T56.

The Shark steamer doesn't work as well as hoped. It is fine for detail work but a little small/weak for serious degreasing. WD40 and some elbow grease worked fine until I sprouted a leak.

Made my own stick shift **** adaptor with Camaro ****. Installed boots on e brake and shifter, added aux port on stock stereo, installed a different 12v power outlet cover, added red badge overlay on the Pontiac sign next to the trac button. Well today i finished a

weeks worth of tinkering here and there but today..done!

All done
