tried to start mine after replacing a blown fuse that may be the culprit to lean o2 code ive been having......fuel pump wouldnt prime. started going through wiring and multimetered the connections.....only to realize ecm wasnt connected.
Not necessarily from today but within the last 2 weeks I've rolled my quarters, re-adjusted my konis, got some new 555 G2s for the front, got those mounted, got an alignment and washed/clayed/waxed
Pulled my alternator, power steering pump and A/C compressor to pull the bracket that holds all that on. Found a broke stud on my compressor so went to a junkyard and pulled one for $10. Got that and A/C compressor back on. Next off days will finish it jp
replaced a leaking fuel fitting.....which apparently during the process loosened the fitting on the back of driver side fuel rail resulting in a nice leak when I primed the system.
Also tried to finish up my steering wheel swap, I had it on previously but not bolted down or the horn wired up. Apparently (lot of those this weekend) I didnt put the adapter back on the same way so the steering wheel isnt straight of course I didnt notice this until after I had torqued it down. Tried pulling it back off and it pulled the thread out of the adapter so ....... yeah im at a loss on that one.
This was on 08/27/2016 but I am just getting around to posting.
Pulled into my parents driveway and parked. My Dad walks out 5 minutes later to see antifreeze flowing down the driveway. My radiator cracked near the radiator cap and was leaking antifreeze.
Removed the radiator easily but accidentally broke an AC condenser line during the process. That was a $65 mistake, and now I have to recharge the system. Thankfully, my Dad has a vacuum pump and manifold gauge set.
Bought a $105 "Spectra Premium Radiator" from AutoZone and installed it. Works great and no complaints.
Advice for radiator repair:
1) be careful of AC condenser line, it doesn't take much movement to lose pressure
2) check your old radiator for a bushing near the drain peacock that needs to be reused on the new unit. I forgot to put mine on but it wasn't too much of a hassle.
Special note: if you still have your OEM "power steering cooler" and you are replacing your radiator, just do yourself a favor and delete the cooler and replace it with a normal upper radiator hose for a Trans Am without the
power steering cooler option. It will save you a major headache once your power steering cooler decides to fail. I'm sure there is a write up for this but it is quite simple.
Did plugs, ignition wires, long tubes, ORY, catback, wideband AFR gauge and cut the trap door for a fuel pump replacement. Pump replacement and intake manifold swap with ls6 PCV conversion next weekend
That trap door will come in handy, it seems dumb until you have to diagnose a fuel flow issue. Last winter I couldnt accumulate enough pressure to start the car, I pulled the sending unit and found that the line from the pump motor to the lid on the sending unit had come off, but not all the way. it would flow until it hit about 20psi then the line would come off the barb. If I had to drop my tank to find that out I would have been so mad!
got my replacement steering column in on saturday, maybe one day this week Ill pull the driver valve cover off and see if I can tighten my leaking inlet line on the driver rail.
yea theres a lot of people against the trap door and IMO its not ruining the frame, its not a load point, and when sealed back up with JB weld and covered by the factory carpet who cares? Only you will know lol. I had enough doing headers and exhaust on the floor of my garage I couldn't imagine dropping the rear for a pump and you cant op check it until everythings back in lol, imagine getting it all back in and finding out you screwed up.
My pump has been off and on making a loud noise where you can clearly hear gears moving from the pump. It has stopped for the time being but I'd rather not take the chance, pump is 18 years old anyway.

Did the AFR gauge in the A/C vent and installed the headunit as well. Car was all kinds of ripped apart this weekend lol
Finally did the PS cooler bypass very happy with results but I call complete bs on "Took me 15 mins" lol took me at least 2-3hours
Glad you took care of it quick. Still cannot believe GM's engineers thought that was the most economical way to cool down power steering fluid... Mind blowing, but hey I'm not an engineer.
