I think all the fourth gens look good in their own way, but the '93-97 Firebirds just look so sleek and smooth to me. The '93-97 Camaros with headlight covers, even clear ones, look nice and smooth too. Of course I like really round and smooth shapes, it's why mid-late 30's to mid-late 40's and 90's cars are my favourite. Now it's all sharp and aggressive angles, bleh.
LEDs arrived and was able to finish up the interior lighting and just have to install the gauge bezel and dash knee bolster tomorrow, then can get some finished pictures. The single 12V diffused LEDs worked out really well and I'm pleased with how everything turned out.
was able to get my lights to move again. brother had a switch box that was weatherproofed so i stuck that bad boy in there and voila. that left motor though. the right one has a cap thats held on by the screws but the left one is just apparently epoxied on so it likes to just pop off due to the worm gear torquing the tractor gear out alittle. see what some well placed washers do for that.
not sure how i feel about having functioning lights. i always just left them up of course. sure everyone likes that pop up action as do i so its obviously great and i hope it continues to work for as long as possible. but a part of me like having the lights always up. building this car all the money is going into the motor and under the car. having a car that is as fast and as ugly as a pig on fire has always appealed to me.
When I refurbished my motors I ran three black cable ties evenly spaced across the cap and body to hold it into place. Yeah it's kind of ghetto but I won't have to worry about the caps coming off again, I did it where the locking square was on the underside out of sight so it's not that noticeable, and I needed them operating ASAP and didn't have time to wait for an epoxy or sealant to try and set up.
Got a little better picture after trying a bunch of settings but still not a great representation, was out earlier and even with some daylight could see the light switch and HVAC fine whereas pictures would lead you to believe they're dim as crap:
Spent 270 bucks on an OEM uncracked dash pad. Should be here sometime next week.
My '99 dash cracked a few months after I bought it new. Before taking to the dealer for warranty replacement, I discovered a "High" spot on the dash support structure above the glove compartment. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I think I removed one of the attachment clips. It's still uncracked today.

Good to know. This one was pulled off a Camaro and its in good condition, so it should pretty much drop in, but I'm gonna take like an hour to put it in to make sure its perfect. I'm not dealing with this **** again. I may even get it wrapped.
SSRA is super sucker ram air, a ram air kit for the f body, basically you install a plastic duct that directs air from the high pressure zone underneath your car and forces it up into your airbox, it routes a duct from the air dam up through the radiator and into the bottom of the box. You then seal the front stock opening for max effect, Its not anything that will show on a dyno for obvious reasons however has been proven at the track to show gains, plus you can feel the butt dyno gains as well. They have multiple versions of the kit depending on how extreme you want to take it.

I just replaced mine today with one I got from a local guy. It popped in pretty easy. The new (to me) one is still very flexible so I should be good for a while.
I also replaced both tiered ends and did a driveway alignment. I'll take it to the shop in a couple of weeks and get a real one done but I got it pretty close. Oh and I had to fight to get my headlight doors aligned. I had taken them apart last week to fix some wiring and they were hitting the hood on the way up. Thats a PITA... Busy day to say the least. LoL
Just got a 2001 trans am got it started and took for a short test drive. Loose steering have to figure out what's wrong
I would start with upper ball joints, outer tie rods, and an alignment. Then see what it does. Hopefully the rack is still good. Also check and make sure the PS fluid isn't milky. The PS cooler is known to fail.
