Finally got around to hacking up the airbox for the free ram air mod. Yay for procrastination!

I'll call it a pretty good weekend. Got to help out and meet a couple board members now I'm laying down some paint. There should be a crate of new toys showing up in the next day or two so ill have a busy week.

Oh, no thanks needed darlin. I had a blast and I'm glad to help anybody that doesn't mind getting dirty.

Pulled the intake, coil packs and valve covers off then broke them down and have most of it soaking in a tub of degreaser for the night. Tomorrow I plan to clean the covers and coil brackets up some and see about painting them.

Pulled all the parts out of the tub 'o degreaser and washed them off. Painted the covers to match the car and the coil brackets black. Attempted to paint the coils but it came out all blotchy, guess I didn't get all the oil residue off. The covers are passable so long as you stand more than 5 feet away from the car Also installed a PnP TB from Potz, new TPS, IAC & MAP sensors and put everything back together with some stainless bolts instead of the dull stock ones.

I put my T/A outside to work on a bud's '05 WRX STI to do brakes, coil-overs timing belt and water pump. So far, doing the brakes, every other bolt breaks-including in the calipers.

What a nightmare these cars are to work on. It makes me appreciate my good old low-tech GM car even more.

I'll say! These calipers are known to have the bolts destroy the threads when removed which can be fixed with Helicoils. Sometimes, the bolt snaps and the caliper is junk. I guess we're just lucky.

Wash and wax. Fixed the damn PCV leak. Find out tomorrow if my gas mileage goes back to 20/27 instead of 10/15.
