Installed my pillar pod and gauges. The trans temp isn't functional right now because I couldn't get my ham fisted hands in there enough to put the sender in the pressure test port so it will have to wait until I drop the tranny for a new converter or until I install a new pan that I can tap for the sender.

Thanks! I'm really digging them so far and like the fact that I can see my actual coolant temps without hooking up HPT or a hand scanner.

The factory water temp gauges in the 99-02 cars is an averaging guage that does not show you the current actual temp. It is no better than an idiot light because by the time it starts moving past 210* it is already too late. You can drive around all day in every type of condition and it will never variate from pointing straight up. You can see how far off it can be by hooking up a hand scanner and watching it as you drive around. I have had it be off by as much as 30* before

Took it to the annual non-profit fund raiser we have every year. Had one of my employee's relatives bring up a SOM WS6 to sit with mine since I was the only car to show up. Unfortunately the motorcycle club bailed on us and never showed up either. So it was my bird sitting in the middle of a bunch of antique tractors, haha.

99REDTA, On a cold start it will inch up as you drive it for the first 15 minutes or so but once it hits about 206* it will hold just shy of the 210 mark until something is wrong and even then it is minutes before it begins to move up.
An example is, my interstate cruising temp with a stock t-stat at 70mph is around 190-195 but the temp stays at 210* But when I get in stop and go traffic I will hit up to 206 on a warm day in stop and go traffic.
If you ever consider aftermarket gauges, a full sweep water temp one would be a good investment.
