Reinstalled the tranny with the dipstick properly in place this time with spanking new bellhousing bolts. Actually installed more than I took out since the last person who worked on it apparently didn't feel like installing 2 of them and had also left the dipstick bolt off the back of the passenger head. Also put in a prothane trans mount and a Hayden 679 cooler. I was going to finish up the install by tapping the new TCI deep pan for a temp sensor but neglected to pick up a 1/8 NPT fitting to go in the hole for the sending unit to reside in. Once I do that tomorrow she will be ready to fire back up and hoping that everything goes smoothly. Then I'll just have to do a little tuning for the new converter.

Upon inspecting my adjustable strano rear bar setup I found it was missing its bolt that holds the endlink to the swaybar. -____-

Is it really that different in driving?

It takes some getting used to, yea. I am sure in a week I won't even think twice about it however. At first I tried to drive it the same as I did the stock converter and was running over 3000 rpms to get around but now I am able to get the car moving with it around 2200 and keep somewhat with traffic. It accelerates slower until lockup then it becomes much more responsive. When I have a chance I am going to take a little video of the cluster while driving to show the differences. I am also definitely getting worse mpg out of it putting around town but part of that was the first day of me keeping it over 3K plus the PCM needing to relearn the fuel trims since the battery was out for a while. After a tank or two of gas I will see just how much difference it will make on the economy of city driving.

Default Bought parts, almost smacked a girl

Just bought some ngk plugs from oreilleys, which completes the buying parts phase of the planned tune-up for next week. Shes getting plugs, wires, injectors, new k&n, fuel filter, o2 sensors, coolant flush, trans flush and filter, oil change and filter, and a few other things like bushings and **** that i cant remember right now. figured id better give her a nice 250,000 mile tuneup, dont know how much longer shes gonna last.

Girl took me out on a date the other day but we drove my car. As we're coming back she says that she likes riding in it. I say "Thanks, me too, and I should, having put around $30,000 into it over the years." She says "wow, all that money, you could have saved it up towards a really nice fast car, like a mustang." I got probably a little more bent out of shape then i should have, but i did educate her a little bit.

Now she wants to go to test&tune with me on thursday...

Yeah, my second wife liked (past tense) Mustangs too, as her first car was a baby blue 78 Mustang II.

The first time we went out in the beast and I got into the boost, I scared her; now, if I don't give her butterflies on the 1-2 shift, she's disappointed!

(Oh, she loves car shows too - she's a keeper!)

I brought it home finally. Found out on the way home my A/C doesn't work. YAY.

But teh PuRpL3's all safe and snug in my garage now. Tight fit.

Spent some time cleaning the engine and realized that my car came with an aftermarket lid! Don't know how I missed that one. If I keep looking, maybe I'll find more mods...lol.
