Im buffing up my 3.8l firebird for car shows and all. What do i need to change first in my engine inorder to get performance on my current engine.?

i think the easiest and quickest thing to do would be to get it to GTP spec. Factory Eaton supercharger set up. Then of course upgrade your down pipe and exhaust as well as your intake, then you would need to get an inter cooler and maybe meth injection, then a bigger pulley, then you need a custom engine remap/tune. After that, i would recommend a good choppy cam. After that, stroke bore hone and polish your block, then increase boost significantly. Of course for all that you could swap in an LTx or LSX. But im all for keeping it different!
Just listen to this GTP!!!

THe GTP supercharger and intake will not clear the hood or firewall on a F-body, I'm sure with tons of modification you can get it to fit. If your going to super charger a 3.8L you should just buy the kit that has the proper parts for the F-body..

whisper lid, ram air intake, headers, exhaust,LSD and 3.73s (if you have an A4), tune
that should get you to 200-220 rwhp
then more $$ mods would be heads and cam they can be gotten from zzp

There's a ton of things you can do, but it will never be worth it. Save any money you want to put into that 3.8, and don't waste too much time/energy on your current vehicle. Then buy an ls1 car down the road.
Or, don't listen to me and go to fullthrottlev6.com and try to make a v6 do things it should never do...

Modding a 3.8l with anything more than intake and full exhaust is pretty worthless. If your looking for speed save for a LS1 and keep the 3.8l for daily duties or car shows.
But if your looking to do it anyways with $3000
Whisper Lid ~ $100-$250
Pacesetter headers ~ $150-$300
Magnaflow/Borla exhaust ~ $250-$600
Lowering springs ~ $250-$300
Koni or Bilstein Shocks/struts ~ $400-$600
New rims ~ $800-$1000
Fresh rubber ~ $400
If you have anything left over maybe a mail order tune.
After that she'll look real good on the road and sound damn good going down it.
