Default Just picked up an ls1 bird!

Well, yesterday on march 1st i picked up this 98 trans am auto 2.73
Its pretty much mint inside and out with all the maintenance up to date.

So now, imma retire the z06 and daily this from now on. To tell you the truth, T/A feels more fun than the vette

Here are a few pix.

bone stock! 140K miles. Owner just did an oil change, replaced spark plugs, did valve cover gaskets, put brand new tires all the way around, new brakes, air filter, put both new window motors, as well as mirrors. He cleaned it up really nicely too.
I could tell that he took care of the car.

Paid $4400 for this clean title car, he was asking 4800 originally

Thats what i was thinking at first BUT, honestly this one feels just as fast as my previous stock trans ams that came with 3.23's... this one just getter gas mileage and downshift points are a tad different. It downshifts in 2nd at 65 MPH instead of 60 with 3.23's. Honestly the car is no slouch, it still puts me back in the seat under hard acceleration.

Mild DD Stall (3200-3400) and LT headers are coming soon.

I don't know man....first gear is a monster no matter what ratio you have with an a4, but 2nd is where it gets disapointing, pulls like a slug. 3rd picks up the slack only alittle...but even 3rd is alittle disapointing...just my opinion.

after I swaped my gears....I'll never buy a 2:73 car ever agian....but whatever , enjoy...

It definitely feels like a slug from anywhere from 35-65 mph but it pick up pretty good after. I'm guessing a stall will fix the issue. I like that gear for DD though, it gets slightly better gas mileage then my previous T/A that was stock aswell

Congrats, nice ride!

I'm pretty sure all A4 cars came with 2.73 gears-as well as a steel driveshaft.

I went from 2.73 to 3.42 and lost a little fuel economy but the acceleration gain was pretty good. I've also gone to the aluminum driveshaft.

LS cars do pull pretty good stock, eh?

I think some came with 3:08s and didn't some 2002 a4s come with 3:23s?
ahh either way the 2:73s are def worth losing 1 or 2 mpg..didn't buy a trans am banking on 30/mpg anyway right..lol

Well, I havean 02 z06 (pix In profile). The thing is pretty much bone stock and put down 360 even at the wheels. Considering that the trans am hooks under hard acceleration already puts the vette ahead as far as fun goes... the vette spins through 1st, 2nd and hooks in 3rd. EX: 55 mph roll in 2nd, it still spins like a crazy ****. I have rear tires at 75 percent thread right now.

I definitely gotta invest in some nittos soon as well as more mods. Trans am provides a more relaxing drive where it produces"useable" power for passing anytime. Don't get me wrong the vette is a way better car all the way around but when it hooks

****... if I think about it, so far I have owned 3 trans ams with A4 and M6 before this one. And this would be the keeper that will stay in my family

Yup! From 35 mph roll, its a complete dog, but 25 punch still chirps tires a tad. Stall is in order. Thanx man, def will take care of it
