Very impressive but not sure how much more $$ the seller wants. That's a pretty darn good price right now from what I've seen ($23,950 as I write this). It is indeed a rare color and the manual makes it really appealing to some as well. However it does have 17k miles on it. That high stratosphere of pricing is generally reserved for the sub 5,000 miles cars that were rarely driven, or of course the very low mileage 2002 CETA cars. We'll see what happens. Very interesting if the latter bids are real and not posted by 'friends'. Thanks for posting Jamin!

FWIW, that car is ASC# 1212, converted on 4/28/98, and is indeed 1 of 18 SGM M6 WS6 T/A coupes built. Nice to see a low mile '98 getting recognition (I just rolled 18K on mine). Kinda surprized that with all the bragging about the SOTL that a good picture of it isn't included in the ad.

This car and the one for sale in KY both belonged to us at one point (we also have another SGM WS6 now btw...so yes we have had 3 of the 52.)
I can tell you this car is EVERYTHING its claimed to be!
When is the last time you have seen a lower mileage SGM car for sale??? When your talking total production of 52 vs over 1000 the number or cars available with ultra low miles is very very low. After all these cars where bought to be driven in 98 not as collectibles like many of the CETAs and 30ths were so none were just parked and put up. That's what makes this car so rare. There MAYBE a lower documented mileage SGM WS6 out there but I doubt it.

No argument about the car being rare and low miles, just stating that the price seems top $$$ already at $24k or whatever it is at the moment. How much do you think it should bring?? I know you have an obvious bias, but really, what should the car go for? The paint may be gold but the car isn't made of it. Even if it was brand new in the wrapper, with zero miles, I can't imagine it going for crazy money. The demand just isn't there IMO. The color is gold, now what?? The SOM cars are very rare and popular too but usually that means a $2,000 or $3,000 extra premium for the sweet ultra low mileage cars. The SGM should be similar. As I said, we will see if it gets sold and if the bids are legit.
My point is if it where a black 98 with 17k miles would it even be close to the $24k mark? Even if it where a 30th or CETA with 17k miles would it even be $24k...I have had both and I can tell you no (with the possible exception of a 6spd 30th vert.). So I think that right there proves the premium of the color on it.

Nice cars. Especially the one on eBay. I think the prices are a bit optimistic. When I was looking for my 02 a year and a half ago I saw an M6 CE with under 20k start out at 18.5 drop down to 16 something and get sold out of Grants Pass Oregon. We also have no rust conditions out here unless you park in the ocean. .

Does that mean I think SGM paint draws 6x the "premium" that SOM *might*?? Not necessarily. To the right buyer, looking for a rare color on a low mile fully loaded example, very likely (and apparently considering the bid on this car).

There were well over 300 SOM WS6 coupes built each year, 2001 and 2002. Not even in the same category of "rarity" as SGM (52 in the one year produced: '98).
