So after trying everything, one light goes up when the other light goes down?

Seeing as how you just replaced the motor, I'd venture a guess that the new motor wires are reversed. Perhaps accidentally swapped while being manufactured.

Does the older motor go down when the switch is off? If so, then swap the wires around on the other motor.

Now they should be in sync.

Has anyone had a problem with not being able to open a headlight manually? I just bought an 00 WS6 and my driver side headlight comes on but doesnt come up. I know which wires and connectors to inspect to find the issue but cant even get to them because the manual **** is really hard to turn.. I also noticed that the linkage appears bent and the peach/whitish colored stop is bent back or just worn out.. Possibly the bent linkage is preventing me from being able to manually lift the light?

They can be tight. I needed to use an allen head socket plus my hand to twist it loose.

Ok I replaced my drivers side motor and it seems to close and kind of bounce a little when it closes and just isn't as smooth on the close as the passenger side is. I was thinking that the new motor is stronger and it just closes a little harder. Any ideas on what to check.

Is it loose or firm when it's closed?

Does anyone know what kind of grease should be used on the pop up headlight gears? I'm doing the Brent Franker aluminum gear swap now, his write up said to use graphite grease but I have my doubts. Graphite is corrosive to aluminum, I would prefer to use something else. Any ideas?

Question

Hey guys,

While I was fixing my headlight motor, I broke and lost the bolt that connect the arm to the headlight assembly and could not find it! the only thing lift is the rivet washer "this is what they call it I guess" which shown in attached pic. Looks like a little plastic or rubber sleeve was in there as well.

Could you tell me what I'm missing? and from where can get them?

Thanks in advance.

I think that's all there is. The "push nut" simply keeps the arm attached to the headlight.

Does it not go back together as is?

Unfortunately no.

Are you sure that's all to make the arm attached to the headlight assembly? because i felt that something drop at the time i broke it and it was dark to look for it.

I don't have pop ups anymore, but I did check some pictures.

There is a nylon bushing that goes on that stud. It prevents metal on metal wear, rattling, etc....

I can't post a pic right now, but I will as soon as I can.

Thanks for the help, do you know from where can I get it? or at least a similar one?

Is this all? I mean the pushing nut and the nylon bushing?

Thanks again

You should be able to make it from nylon parts at your local hardware store.

You need a tubular piece to slide over the stud and a flat washer piece on one side.

I saw these today.

The push nut should go on easy and come off hard. It bites into the metal to keep it in place. If it's wore out and comes off easily, you need to replace it with a new one.

I can't seem to get my headlight on left side to work. the motor has been swapped and they both work fine so no stripped gear problem. There seems to be power to the motor but the headlight won't go up or down you can put power directly and then it reverses and works.
I think its module and have ordered a used one. I checked the fuses in fuse block under hood.Is there an additional relay in car or somewhere that might be not working?
Would in car headlight switch cause problem maybe? The connector to the headlight seems fine. as said it seems to be a problem reversing the power.

I need help finding something, one of these:

This is a bearing for a hinge on the headlight. It fits to a bolt with a torx head like so.

Size: 73.5 KB

Name: DSC03110.jpg
Views: 222
Size: 69.6 KB

Name: DSC03105.jpg
Views: 257
Size: 80.0 KB

This is where is goes. Torx end goes on the inside, nut on the outside. Each headlight has two of these.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these?

On another note, no one answered my previous question on what grease to use on the headlight gears. Please help me out. At least one of you has to know.
