Check this connector located under the headlight unit. This connector is known to "corrode" a lot= poor conductivity.

Check the Picture
This can be done without removing headlight unit from car.

Disconnect / inspect / Clean

Would it be possible to replace just the metal cover of the headlight? I bought mine with a dent in the driver side cover and would like to replace it with out having to buy a whole new headlight. Also did they make ones without the raise PONTIAC?

The cover bolts right off. I do not believe any 98-02 driver headlight cover is missing the PONTIAC. Custom work would be needed to make the cover similar to the passenger side.

Yes you can. Somewhat hard to find someone just to sell the cover though. Some jackass stole just the cover off mine awhile back so I just had to buy a new cover. There was a guy on here parting out his car that had some for $10 each. I wish I saw that before I bought mine.

Sorry if this has been answered but what do I do if the headlight is stuck down and will not manually raise up?

So... A few days ago I attempted to fix one of my headlights (Passenger Side). I tried just turning the gear 180 degrees like everyone does, but it still didn't work so I just need a new gear. That's not my problem... after putting everything back on I GOOFED and didn't tighten the nut that keeps the arm from the lights on all the way and it fell off while driving... Anyone know where i can just get one nut that'll fit it? I've seen packs of 20 or so on amazon for like $8 but I just need one. Help!

Ok so weird series of events.. or hopefully common so it's a quick fix, got home from work shut my lights off and the passenger side stayed up, got that fixed (just unplugged motor harness and back in no corrosion) but then the low beam light didn't work. Picked up a new light this morning and it still isn't working any thoughts on this??

i would throw it up in the sticky but nobody looks there and id like an answer....

98 TA... put in a new motor. Turn lights on and driver side goes up. Turn lights off passanger side goes up and drivers down.

i know there is a fix i just cant find it

ALSO... what do you use to clean the corrosion on the female socket??

let me guess, you replaced the passenger side motor?

You got the arm that bolts to the motor shaft backward causing it to move in reverse.
