Silver CETA mod

Silver CETA mod
Searched a little for this, with no luck. I have to do a small amount of paint work on the rear bumper on my white 98 T/A. There is a small scrape on the corner of the bumper by where the right side exhaust exits. It has been there since I bought it, and it finally has bothered me enough to fix it. Plus, I bought new dual wall tips for the car, so I want to clean up the look back there. The car has some subtle silver accents and decals, and while I think the black CETA looks good, I don't think it will look good on my car. And I kind of want to stay with the silver theme. I was thinking about maybe doing a silver CETA mod, but can't find any pics anywhere to help my decision. Does anyone have any pics of this if it has been done or any thoughts?

I just don't see it, picturing it in my head I thought maybe on a black car, but then I looked at the link and man being totally honest I did NOT like what I saw. kill the silver accents and go black only color that plays off a white car in my opinion.

I think that area goes beyond an "accent" and you need to be really careful what colors are used. With silver, you'd be essentially be going two tone in the butt. We can look to mother nature for inspiration here and it doesn't always go well...
The link blackbyrd posted (IMO) has some pictures that went well and others that ended up baboon-like. So, hopefully you can understand my concern. I think the mod looks a lot better when the color is similar with a subtle texture variation - but when there is a totally different color involved - it makes the area look like a sphincter.

While I am not against the black CETA on a white Bird, I was thinking the silver might be a little more subtle, which is what I am after. Really the only silver on my car is the Ram Air hood scoop decals, silver Trans Am on the FRCs (which are white) and silver embroidered headrests. I did do the white anniversary taillight filler panel though. So after thinking, there is not that much silver on the car. I just didn't know if what I was thinking in my head would actually come out like it thought it would.
And by the way, the baboon pic is now permanently burned into my brain...thanks!! LOL

Black is different. It's an absence of color, so you can get away with different things with it.
I think the silver could give you the baboon effect. You might be able to go with a very close-to-white (lighter) silver and be better off. If you can't find someone who has done your exact color combo, you may want to try it out in photoshop to see what it might look like. After going through building a house and selecting colors, I learned that there are different hues of grey/silver that make a big difference in how they complement other colors - but there's no substitue for actually seeing the colors under sunlight.

realized how gray that first one was after I looked up silver trans ams lol so that was a pretty bad shop, put a little more effort into this one and touched up the entire picture
cut out the ceta from a silver trans am picture I assumed that's the silver paint you planned on using

you're welcome, I don't think it would look bad at all and I like when people switch it up from the norm and do something unique. You could also go grab a $5 can of silver plastidip and try it, I plastidipped mine 2 years ago and it has held up great.
