Default Logo on taillight filler panel?

I own a 2000 Pewter M6 T/A, and got sick of seeing the faded red "trans am" and bird between the taillights. I buffed and polished the red graphics off, and replaced it with a vinyl pewter decal. It looks good, except it is starting to peel. I think it's peeling because of washing, not from the elements. Does anyone think I could re-apply another decal, then put a couple coats of clearcoat over it? Would this work, or would the sun screw it up? Thoughts, opinions?

You can add clear over the decal and it will not mess up. A friend of mine does graphics and sprays clear over them so that when you feel the paint it is smooth with no bumps from the graphics that are stuck on the car.

I got tired of the factory emblem, so I just had a friend of mine airbrush a flaming bird on a tailight panel. Click my signature pic to see it. It's under the "Modifications" section.

Xtincthawk, how did you get your panel blank and smooth like that? Mine is engraved in there with red paint. If I buff out the paint then I still have the engraving. I like the clean look too. Did you use plastic filler and blank paint?

PontiacFan on this board made me a polished black centerpiece and it looks great. Cheap, too.

Interesting, Did he make that from scratch or just fix up the Trans Am one by filling and painting (which is what I may do). I want a cheap fix for my faded piece.

A cheap fix is to get a new vinyl decal in red or whatever color you prefer. Here are 3 places that sell vinyl decals for our cars:I bought a set of vinyl decals from the first place in the list for my car.

Here is a picture of my rear filler panel before I applied decals (and before I washed my car). Mine was only just beginning to fade and I changed it because I wanted to make mine the same color as my car.

Here is a picture of the vinyl decal that I bought from them on my rear filler panel. Now it is the same color as my car. Only $10.

And I also filled in the "PONTIAC" letters in the bumper below my rear filler panel. Only $8.

Yes, that does look outstanding. The part number is 10312725 and I think the logo is silver colored. It should be easy to swap that panel into place; I think they are held by the two brake light assemblies.
