Value of "REAL" 1999 Daytona 500 Pace Car TA
Trying to find out what the going rate is for a Actualy documented 1999 Daytona 500 Pace Car Trans Am convertable. Not a fake one, but the acutaly car that paced the daytona 400 event Feb. 14th 1999. Of the 30 pace cars produced, only TWO were stick and mine is one of them. Car is in 100% perfect condition with 20,000 miles. Of course i have more info, but just trying to get an idea what its worth at the moment.
Thanks!
Thanks!

a car is worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it, what brings up the value of a car is the Rarity and age of a car, if you were to try and sell it now, I would guess that it wouldn't be much more valuable than a 99 WS6, however in 20 years or so, you could have a gold mine on your hands, you might be able to find a collector willing to give you a little more than book value on it right now, but I doubt you will get more for it than what you paid for it new, If I were you I would keep her garaged, with low miles, and forget about her, take her out every couple weeks, for a little ride (keep the miles low) and hang on to her for 20 or so years, after that, it could be endless as to what you could get for her, but its hard to answer this question, as I said before, a car is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, and you might run into someone willing to give some bucks for her as it sits, but its a gamble either way good luck Tim, it looks like with your 98 and 99, you could really have something on your hands if you can hold on to them, both cars are rare and sweet...

20 years from now that pace car convertible will be worth alot more than the purple WS6. If you look back on current collectible vehicles, color rarely increases price. Collectors are more concerned with harder to find combos/options, and less concerned with color.
An actual pace car doubtfully raises the price of a vehicle unless no other vehicles like it are produced. Consider the 1969 Camaro Indy pace cars, the values of those are only dependent on their level of restoration or condition. People tend to care less if the car was actually pacing on a track, and are more interested in just having that type of vehicle.
now, I believe the 2004 Corvette will be pacing Indy this year, and they are building a special pace car for this event that will not dupilicated or be sold to the public. That one would be worth quite a bit to a collector.

You might want to check out www.30th-ta.org
Post the question there.
Most 30th's I have seen sell that were in decent shape fetched 20k and up. Trust me since I own one I keep an eye out on what they are selling for.
A low mileage festival car should certainly sell for more then a regular 30th.
I am not sure if you are certain what you have. My car has been called a pace car by many, though it is not.
Just because the pace car decals are on a 30th doesn't make it a festival car either. The decals could be had from the dealer.
Anyway, hope this helps.

He probably **** his pants when I told him he didn't have an actual pace car, maybe he commited suicide because he paid $10,000 to much for the car? LOL..Or maybe this is it?
