Threw my serpentine belt for the first time a few days ago, not fun especially since I didn't have any tool in the car. Did a new tensioner along with the SC Buick pulley swap (Dayco 89009) that I saw in an old thread on here. The pulley has higher sidewalls and a larger diameter so it gives me some peace of mind. New pulley is installed in the pic

Well it was bound to happen eventually, I lost 3rd gear in the 4L60e last night. 156k on it, with maybe 16-17k of it being cammed. I always expected it to show that it was on its way out, but it just kinda happened, oh well. Hopefully have it back in action in a couple weeks.

Also had an issue where the AC would only blow out from the floor and the defrost. So I started chasing vacuum lines and found this elbow at the back of the intake. Easy fix.

Also managed to leave my phone in the door jamb where I forgot it and proceeded to close the door and crush the phone. She's been real kind to me this week lol

Got the trans out and at the shop. Thankful for my buddies for lending a hand and helping me out.

She'll be back together in a couple of weeks!

Thanks!

Got the trans in yesterday. Went smoothly and only took a couple of hours. On the way home from the shop my alternator took a dump on me and left me stranded. Luckily my brother was following me and we were able to get a new battery and make it home. Swapped alts today and all is good so far. New trans feel great!

You had an expensive few weeks, but it's always worth it when you're back driving your fbody. Glad it's back on the road.

Went with a Remy 145amp that we had around. I actually originally had this alt in the car before I swapped it for an acdelco one. Reason I originally took it out was because I misdiagnosed it as the cause of another issue . It's been working well so far though!

Recovered my headliner this weekend as well. It's a project I've been wanting to tackle for a while so I decided to pull the trigger on it this week. It was pretty difficult honestly. Between the material folding in on itself and getting stuck together, removing all the foam, and the super brittle headliner board, I definitely don't want to do it again lol. If I could go back I'd probably either get an ABS plastic one, or remove it and let a shop cover it. I was going to go with a black suede but I figured I'd give blue a shot to be a little different. Got 2 yards of material from Joann's for $20. I'm happy with the color at least!

Did a little work on the 79 today replacing the broken door handle. Also discovered why the power locks were not working. All of the wires were just taped and stuffed inside of the door llol

Finished up wiring the locks on the 79. They were struggling to move at first, but nothing a little lube couldnt solve. Passenger side lock is still not working so I'll get into that next. Going to assume it is just unplugged like the driver side.

Also had the chance to check out a family friends Aventador, a childhood dream realized. It really was something to experience. Everything about it was just awesome. My favorite part had to be revving it in corsa mode, the sound and throttle response made me weak at the knees. I may pass out when we go back for a ride lol

Was on the interstate yesterday and I heard my belts start to chirp. So I turned my radio down to listen and I look in my rear view mirror to be greeted with smoke billowing out the back of the car. I assumed the worse, and luckily I was right by an exit so I quickly pulled off and into a gas station to turn the car off. It was puking trans fluid from one of the cooler lines. Had to tow it home and get under it to really see. Somehow just one of the lines had a gash in it. Wasn't cut by the radiator shroud where the line goes through and there was nothing around it to rub it so I'm kind of at a loss as to how it happened. At least it was an easy fix!

Ouch, hopefully you caught it asap otherwise you will make quick work of the 3-4 clutch pack.

Braided steel lines with -An fittings is a nice clean upgrade you might wanna look into.

Was looking into that actually. Definitely want to do it eventually.

Thankfully I was right next to an exit when it happened. Trans is doing fine, think I'd die if I burned it up

Made it out okay from Hurricane Zeta. Had a close call with my neighbors tree falling down.

Car was the dirtiest it's been in a while following the storm so I washed, clayed, and sealed it with some turtle wax seal-n-shine I'd been seeing some good reviews on. Came out great!
