hahaha another Griots fan!!! I finally retired my old porter cable and got the g8 and g9 combo over the holidays Byrd is gonna get the full process for the first time in years!!! well over a decade.
I hear you on the sail panel mines gettting rough also , im really debating getting a carbon fiber one....... no paint just rip off the old one and replace.
lolol . Only reason I did them was to clear the breaks as well.

I've been perusing the junk yards around here to hopefully piano wire one off, but never have any luck. If they do have an f-body (rare) it's always hardtop and not an LT1 unit. The 800-1k for a sail panel is a tough one to swallow for me, but it would sure be a hell of a lot easier

It's a lot upfront but the cost of not painting likely equals out. For thr cf version but if I was still gona have to paint it that's a lot!

I could do my big brakes upgrade instead....... what arp stufs you end up goijg with?

Fair point. I hadn't considered running it unpainted. In my case in not sure how well CF would fit with the car, maybe I just can't picture it.

I went with these (
Amazon Amazon
) the 2.5" ones

Both units cleaned up! Did a few things to the runner this weekend. New rear pioneer sub to replace to the blown stock jbl, weather tech mats, and LED conversion.

Very happy with the new purchase

Just the fronts!

I actually had to send back one of my timken units bc one I received was already noisy and spun pretty freely for a brand new assembly. Was like a month long ordeal.

A little autox prep for this weekend. Installed a rear UMI sway bar last night. Need some more red under there…and a cleaning lol. Car does feel great though. Very planted. Excited to see how it performs Saturday

Ooo nice! I still have my factory rear but 1le up front. Makes for fun when I let the power off the chain. I'm curious to see if I feel different when I change how it mounts to the rear. I have a 9" so it doesn't quite clear the pumpkin with the mounts I have now. I don't think it leverages properly due to this and actually feels stiffer then it is

We should just trade rear ends straight up that way yours will clear. It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make 😂

Great time at autocross this weekend. Car felt a lot more composed this go around with the addition of the STB, SFC, and the rear sway bar. Rear end definitely did not want to kick out as much. Really just need more seat time most importantly, and prob some more suitable tires at this point. Next event is in 2 weeks!

Another great time at autox. Getting better!

No mechanical issues from the car at all.

still could use some better tires. Eyeing up some rt660s but that’s a pretty penny

Finally got to do a little paint correction on the 79. Used the same pad/polish combo that I did on the 01. It Could benefit from a a 2 step polish, but it really did a good job.

also did a round of maintenance on the TA. Charged the oil and drained the catch can. Bled the brakes. And adjusted my tie rods so my wheel would be centered. Car is good to go 😎

Car started making a pretty terrible creaking sound when it was warm and I'd turn the wheel to the right. Fluid is looking pretty gross too. May be looking into a new rack
