I have only heard of the concept called "Banshee"
Something I found looking for a production Banshee:
A Firebird by another name might have been a Banshee. The Banshee name almost made production until an alert employee looked up the word in the dictionary. Banshee was defined as "A haggish fairy in irish folklore believed to foretell an impending death in the family by wailing outside the house." Not a very positive marketing image.

Michael, I'm certainly not an expert on Firebirds or Trans Ams nor even Pontiacs in general, and it's not my intent to argue the point, but I checked with the general manager of the local Pontiac dealer here and he told me that Pontiac did make such a car in 1995 and the car was sent by Pontiac to one of two aftermarket hop-up facilities that also did Camaros. I can give you his name and phone number if you are interested in following this up. It is not my intent to deceive anyone or misrepresent this car as anything that it is not. That being said, the car certainly looks like it is from the factory. The modifications appear to be of factory quality. The "Banshee" insignia on the doors is the same script as the factory "Formula" script. the headests have the "Banshee" insignia embroidered in them, and the headrest material matches the seat material. It has a Hurst shifter that also appears to be factory quality. Again, I'm not trying to argue the point, but the quality of the modifications is consistent with a factory conversion. If you're still interested in the car, I'd be interested in trading for your Trans-Am and would like more information on it. Mike Hassenplug
that is what i got in response.to me telling the guy the Banshee is bogus.

maybe there was something called a banshee sounds very familiar....doesnt look to shabby neither...howefver i wouldnt downgrade froma n LS1 to an LT1...performance istna even comparable IMO ....stick with your car....swap out the tranny or trade for another LS1...much much better idea...and hell just curious how much you pay for your car...and how much you got to mod it?....thatll be a good start...a 6 speed and a new rear...combined youll enjoy it
