a while back oh i would say 6 months ago i was looking at ebay motors. And there was a early 80's car that was called something like a Firebird Z28. It was like a mix in bodies between the firebird and camaro. It was the weirdest/coolest looking early 80's fbody ever i thought. Was just wondering if it was a kit car, or if it really exhisted

Reminds me of the red fourth-gen development mule that GM had for their real world testing...

CORMARO
A PERFECTLY CAMOFLAGED C5. NEW 1995 CAMAROS WERE FITTED WITH C5 SIDE RAILS, A CENTRAL TUNNEL AND THEN GEN III ENGINES WERE INSTALLED. THIS ALLOWED TESTING OF C5 WITHOUT RAISING INTEREST.

The Cormaro is a Camaro body on the C5 platform. It was used to secretly test the C5 drivetrain.

An interesting aspect of the engine program was the "Cormaro". A number of C5 chassis/powertrain combinations were fitted with modified '95 Camaro bodyshells. These cars were used for powertrain development and were a perfect way to put street miles on the LS1 without drawing attention-at least until ace spyshooter, Jim Dunne, published a picture of a Cormaro in *AutoWeek* magazine and identified the car as a Gen III V8 "test mule."
There was also an unknown number of C4s that were fitted with Gen III engines. These cars were used to develop cold-start ability and the traction control system software.

In the US, the big "get" this year is likely to be pictures of the coming Corvette C6. Chevrolet hasn't released many details about the car; in the past, the maker has hidden Corvette innards in Camaro bodies, producing an unremarkable-looking test vehicle christened the Cormaro.
you should look up the cormaro sometime, GM built 10 of them, it's a short wheelbase camaro (wheel well protrudes into the door) with the c5 chassis and running gear underneath, all were destroyed
