Default First year for wrap-around spoiler on 3rd gens

First of all, what year did the wrap-around spoiler come out? Was it only on the Trans Am, or did the Formula get it the same year? I' m wanting a project car, and I' m leaning towards the T/A, and painting it a somewhat vibrant color. Any pics would be helpful as well.

They started putting the wrap around on all Firebirds in 1986, but without the center brake light. The 86 had the brake light on the upper portion of the hatch, and the spoiler itself was an unpainted high grade rubber. Goodyear manufactured all these spoilers. I know this because I bought one direct from GM (paid about $1100 for it back in 89 or 90) to add to my 85 trans am, and there were marking on the underside of the spoiler and the box it came in indicating "Goodyear tire and rubber company" or something to that effect. Beginning in model year 1987, they started making the spoiler to include a center brake light. I have heard other reports that the (1986 style) spoiler actually started being offered in the latter part of the 1985 model year, but I am not sure how accurate that it.

A third-gen project car would be sweet! Here's a nice one I saw at the 2005 Trans Am Nationals

Here's a nice BBC-powered one that was there too (wrap around spoiler not included )

This one was kind of neat too. Lot's of body mods and an air ride suspension (not dropped in this photo). It was also at the '05 T/A Nats.

According two 2 sources, one says 86 and another says 85. It was optional on the 86, and in 87 it became standard on the Trans Am and Formula.

IIRC, the '85 had the louvered hood with the straight wing and the '86 then got the wraparound wing which they kept until '91 then the wing changed slightly and the nose and ground effects changed (keeping the louvered hood though)

Actually, the spoiler changed a lot, and that was for the 91-92 years.
This is my 86 T/A with the 91-92 spoiler,

It may not matter what year I go with, because I' m thinking now that I might like to change the spoiler anyway. I like all the wrap around designs, and the 91-92 spoiler looks a little better then the original design. Then again, I also like the 4th gen style spoiler, and if I chose that one, I' ll probably go with the LT1 style WS6 hood. I don' t know, I' ve got a pretty good idea of the goals I want to achieve, but it' ll take a lot of something I don't have....MONEY! If I get it where I want it, it' ll be a head turning SOB!
