To me the fourth gen Firebird specially the WS6 Ram Air is one of the meaner car concepts ever made....meaner, badder, bad boy looks, more than the Corvette..even the new one. The look of a WS6 front end in your rear view mirror can make anyone soil their pants!! Anyone remembers the WS6 comercial with the Lambo???

3rd Gen Trans Ams were nice. I had an '84, with that cool offset cowl induction hood (like KITT), and an '88 GTA. The 87-90 T/As, and in particular the GTA's were really cool.
Didn't care much for the '91-'92 (what I've always heard called "Cat's Eye") style with the odd looking front (looks too high) and the wrap around molding (folded up over itself vertically).
The Firebirds were all kinda lame with those amber lights out back. The Formula 350's would have been cool if not for that (neat combo of the '85+ T/A wrap around spoiler and the '82-'84 T/A offset cowl hood), especially in that light metallic blue color.
I miss my GTA. I want another one.
(never givin' up my '02 WS6 though. )

I think I liked the billet grill on that concept better, personally. And there is something neat about the lower billet section with the bird on it. Kinda like a place to mount a little FMIC.
What about making the fog lights bigger, and getting rid of those stripes?

personally id rather never see another firebird again and leave it the mad dog it is today, than see a fireboord look anything like soemthing based off that camaro concept, that thing has no characteristics any fbody have had the entire line of the cars.
let it die a god, rather than live a peasant.

I agree with Cephiros, although I don't want it to die, I'd love to see an updated 4th Gen, like smaller bumper and some minor things, I was just playing with that concept.

Okay if there ever is a 5th generation Firebird/Trans Am, I would like the following:
*Aggressive, sleek body, but not retro, some retro cues will be fine. But keep it modern.
*LS2 for the V-8's and if possible a forged S/C LS2 for the WS6 & Firehawk models.
*Maybe a little shorter in lenght than the 4th generation. Should be shorter than GTO.
*True dual exhaust from the factory.
*Heavy duty rear end from the factory.
*Brighter headlights
*6speed manual and 5 or 6sp automatic transmissions.
*18 inch wheels standard on the WS6 & Firehawks.
*Better and thicker leather seats.
*Side airbags optional, but standard on the WS6/Firehawks.
*Cruise control buttons on steering wheel and radio controls too.
*Avoid the hump in the front passenger foot well.
*Keep a good stereo/radio system.
*Strong dependable power window motors.
*Do not make it heavier than the 4th generation models.
*Better brake rotors.
*Better build quality and materials.
I guess my list is long enough. BTW I will be keeping my WS6 for a long long time. And I am planning of getting another new car within the next 12-18months. But I am not getting rid on my Trans Am!

IMO there is nothing else on the market like the 4th genernation Trans Ams were. For the price they were aggressive, eye catching, head turners. And as everyone here knows fast!!!
Hope there will be another one.

yeah thats one reason i liek camaro's quite a bit cheaper, so people tend to buy them first, making our cars a bit of an exotic, much like a z06..i mean seriously with a camaro SS being 18k maximum (in 2000) and mine being $32k basically fully loaded...i can understand why, but that extra gravey gives you a much rarer and meaner looking car
