Anybody else get a recall notice for the cats on their TA???

 

I just got a recall notice for the cats on my 2000 SS 3 days ago. Not too worried about it though b/c I'll be buying LTs and a ORY soon.

 

I got the letter - it's not technically a recall. They will replace only faulty cats, and will reimburse you if you replaced them yourself and have the reciepts. They will not replace cats that are still working properly. Kindof a "bring it in when it's broke" kinda deal.

 

ya i got the same recall then i was like ya thats why i dont have cat anymore

 

you can get them replaced w/o gm anyway under the federal emissions act. i believe its 8 years and 80,000 miles for any car.

 

i think all 98+ f-bodies got them

 

Got mine Friday.

 

You know, the very first BOLD and UNDERLINED sentence in the letter says "THIS IS NOT A RECALL." Just funny how you called it a "recall".
