Default dyno #'s from G8 GXP A6 seems low? Update!!!!

G8 GXP was 310whp at xXx motorsports today and it Seems low to me???? what do you think! It was on a dynojet the same owner had a G8 GT dynoed 279whp 100% stock and 335 whp with America racing and off road mid pipes, intake and tuned. He put it back to stock and traded it in on the GXP and is about to put all those parts on the GXP and wanted stock dyno#'s Ill keep ya updated on bolt on dyno numbers On G8 GT it picked up think it only had 900 miles or so on the car

That's way too low.

At 415 HP, I am thinking about 340-350 to the rear wheels. My 05 A4 LS2 GTO had 400 HP, and dyno'd bone stock at around 330 rwhp on a Mustang dyno.

One dyno may be lower than the other, but 310 RWHP is IHMO way too low.

Did a search on one of the G8 boards and came up with this.
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showth...228#post164228

I did read in a couple of places where the manual dynos higher than the A6.

How many miles on the GXP? I've seen where it takes a couple thousand miles for them to get up to those power numbers you've seen. A6 will avg maybe 20hp lower than an M6 too.

Oh ok, I thought that was referred to the GT. Yea, still a little early. Livernois and other shops were seeing 15-20hp gain once the motors were broken in. Give it time, the power will be there.

Seems like a low reading dyno. 279 for a GT is as low as I've seen.

GT's dyno in the 290-300 range, so if you add the difference of 10-20 rwhp to the GXP and you're looking at 330ish which I think is about right for an A6.

it was dynoed in 4th. 3rd gear number would of been lower. He tried on the GT and found that 4th gave highest numbers. 3rd is below 1:1 and 4th is 1.15

There's only about 5hp difference between 3rd gear pull and 4th gear pull so don't sweat it. There's been a couple of shops and people on here that have tested the differences and it wasn't anything to get worked up over.

im sure a few more miles, American racing long tube and off road mid pipe, intake stiing in shop and dyno tune will wake it up. The G8 GT picked up 56whp!

Our 6-speed manual GXP made 350 RWHP with less than 100 miles on the odometer and after 1,000 hard miles and no mods it made 370 RWHP. We had a 80 miles GXP auto on the dyno that made 330 RWHP and it should pickup as it breaks in.

EVERY DYNO IS DIFFERENT..

use it for a tuning tool, not to compare power...

Sometimes dyno numbers are the best comparison available. The guy was just curious... no need to bust out the "OMFG IT'S FOR TUNING!!!!!!!!!!!1111111"

compare 2 different cars 2 different states 2 different weather patterns..
no 2 dyno's are alike either..
not a good comparsion.

it is for tuning..

take my gto for example put 362 and 381 on one dyno... on another dynojet put 337 and 357 one week later same exact mods
both SAE numbers
