Default G8 GXP vs CHARGER SRT8

Has any "stock GXP" raced an SRT 8??? If so what was the outcome?

Assuming both were driven perfectly, probably the GXP.

But i think given the weight of the cars/hp being fairly close, it would come down to the driver.

on paper the G8 GXP wins all day, but a slight margin.

I forget who but MT or Edmunds did a couple of pulls with a GT and SRT8 Charger and they said the GT held its own. I though the GT only lost by a fender each pull. So I'd say a GXP should pull it pretty good. A guy a Cecil ran his stock A6 GXP 12.85ish late last spring early summer

Good article. A GXP should take him.

Hey all -- I have an 09 GXP, race it Bandimere Speedway in Morrison Colo. Completely Stock, running 14.0 (remember we are over a mile above sea level). Have lined up against an SRT, all they saw were tail-lights!

Only some. It's available with the same auto as the GT as well (6L80E).

I disagree, moter trend did an article on the G8 GT vs the SRT8 charger and they were a close match.

I would expect it to be a very clear victory for the GXP.

God i love that car lol

I ran my stock GXP here in south texas (Edinburg) and ran consistant 13.3s at 109mph. That was with a little tire spin and no manual shifting, I just left the car in sport mode

I have only ran one SRT8 Challenger and it was me 13.1 and the Challenger 13.5. I've also ran a couple of Charger SRT8's and it wasn't close. Given a better driver and it may be closer, but I give the edge to the stock auto LS3 over any stock SRT8.

These were at Houston Raceway Park.

I'm bone stock.

Yes -- You could get the GXP in either an A6 or M6. I have the Auto -- when at the track, I put it in Sprort Mode, the performance shift for the A6.

You will find more stock SRT's that have gone 12's then GXP's. I thing the record for a stock SRT8 is in the high 12.6range vs 12.8's for a GXP. My SRT-M went 12.6@110mph in the heat with only 6passes with just a cai and a predator tune.

The problem with comparisons like this is that people have different definitions of "stock." Sorry, but if you change your air filter for something aftermarket, undo the front swaybar for better weight transfer, pull anything out to reduce weight, do anything to the exhaust that wasn't factory, or even change tires for something softer it is no longer stock IMO. But, some people won't see it that way.

The only thing that has changed in my GXP is that I have tinted the windows. So if you count that as a Modification, then mine ain't stock. I don't consider that a mod tho....So my win against the SRT-8 Challanger I think will stil stand...
