Default First G8 GT with a Camaro 3.45 diff....

I should say first one that I know of..

Looks like we have a good option for those wanting to upgrade there 2.92 rear to a shorter gear. I dropped my car off at RPM with a Camaro 3.45 LSD center section. Fran installed it on Monday and said there were no issues with the install. I'm hoping to pick it up sometime today and maybe get some runs in tonight...

I'll try and update this for those interested once I get the car back

Nice video setup. We logged some runs so the trans tune should be getting
worked out soon.

You shouldn't pull through the water. Drive past it then back into it. Just FYI

that is awesome, a lot more gear choices with the camaro? so you went 3.45. How fast does first gear go? with the 6spd auto I would think you shift to second pretty quick

What is the reason for not driving straight through the water if you are running drag tires?

No reason to get your front tires wet. Not sure about you but I don't like going 100+ mph on wet tires.

There's a pic from a few weeks ago at the NHRA National Open at Atco. My father is still in the air, at the 'Tree.

I've never seen him drive around the water and he has gone 10.30s @ 129+ in the past with the steel head motor, in that car.

To each his own, I guess.

He came down sooner or later... I wouldn't worry so much about wet tires at the tree as I would crossing the traps.

My point is, it's a non-issue.

Something to think about...

At Atco, there is no way to get around the water. They have a sound abatement wall with garage door sized openings. The water is just past the wall.

There were 9 second Stockers and 8 second Super Stockers there all weekend, no trouble with the tires.

I see your point. My point is, if I have an option to get my tires wet before going 100+mph or not, I'm not going to.

Some tracks don't give you that option but Friday nights at Cecil it 'is better if you can to drive around. Wednesday nights and Saturdays at Cecil the track has some prep

John has street tires on the front. Thats the diff. Street tires pull the water into the tire and will let the water off down the track. Which will cause to to spin alittle or worse for faster cars. THe tires those 8-9 second cars have on them have barely any tread and if they do its straight around the tire. Not sideways so it will not pull the water onto the tire.
