Why are you posting this here also? Didn't the remarks about buying cheap copies of Kooks tell you anything?

http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=22113

For the same principle as on the grrrrr8 board, I wouldn't buy them either.

I owe you an apology. I saw 3 pages worth replies and thought (incorrectly) that the thread had been there for awhile.

I was wrong with that assumption, and again, you have my apologies.

Pretty expensive knockoff... may work well though depending on how well they copied.

Try it and see? I tried DT's and they worked well for awhile until I got Kooks.

I know its not quite apples to apples, but a buddy of mine grabbed a pair of OBX headers for his SRT8 jeep and they were pretty incredible copies, especially for the price. fitment was also spot on so you cant really go wrong with them considering the price difference, and after theyre coated and installed whos gonna know the difference?

edit: google told me theres a $100 difference between these and kooks, not as big of a price gap as other vehicles but OBX is still a nice alternative header

There is a lot more then $100 dollar difference on these. They come with the headers and the "x-pipe" back to the axle back connections. Kooks cost $100 more for just the headers. I've been rocking my Kooks for 2 years now and love them. If these managed to fit correctly then they would be a smoking deal. OP, only one way to find out.

I don't understand cheaping out on parts on such expensive cars. I see this war rage on with all the 5th gen guys on C5. Why buy a 30K car then buy knock off headers to save a couple hundred dollars? I plan to keep my car for a while so I plan on doing things right and once. If that means saving a couple extra months then so be it. I'm sure you won't notice the difference for a couple years but I would bet after a while the cheap workmanship will surface.

All i gotta say is the OBX header that are on my 98 TA are awsome and fit GREAT. They are built quite well and install didnt require all the horror story cutting and grinding and hammering that alot of the $1000 stainless steel headers seem to have. I litteraly had to tap a spot the size of the 8oz ball pien i was using on the firwall on the driverside only. I spent $300 on the headers. Thats alot of money left over out of $1000 to buy everything else you need... like ORY pipes, o2 extentions, band clamps, and even plugs and wires while your in there and even a tune. I know its not a G8 but same familiy of engine.

I even still have my EGR/AIR hooked up Not broken after about 5000 miles since install.
If its a cheap knock off then its a well built cheap affordable knock off that will save you money for things that are more concerning like proper head and cam packages or a quality stall converters or spring and shocks.

Interesting they have "resonators" as a cat replacement...

looks like they would pass a visual inspection though. Not sure I want to be the guy to find out.

if one is looking into staying emissions legal or even visual depending on state, long tubes are a no-no. Moves the cat from its stock location and isnt as efficient as the stock cats either.
