Just bought my 09 gt a few weeks ago. Still in love with it, gets a lot of looks. Looks like only main issue people have are the front control arms and strut bushings.

Take it as a good thing that the front lower control arms were replaced. Mine were replaced at 18,000 miles, and my lifters were replaced at 22,000 miles. Both were TSBs, and the replacement parts were improved designs to prevent failures in the future. I haven't had any issues since, and the car runs very strong. I have just under 60,000 on the clock, and it still drives like new. Daily driver through rain, shine, or snow here in New England. Even with mods, it does great.

Would lifters be covered under 100K warranty?

Main thing you can do is upgrade the control arms or simply change the bushings

Yup. They are part of the drive train. Not to mention there is a TSB for the lifters anyhow if they start to tick.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is "TSB"? I've been poking around here in the G8 section for the last week or so, trying to learn about these cars, been thinking about getting GT, I drove test a couple of '09's the other day, one has 58k miles and the other has 77k miles, but both run and ride like a new car, I'm very impressed and I think I've fallen in love with the G8's.

A TSB stands for technical service bulletin.
It is document the service engineeres will release after they find a common problem with a vehicle. It states symptoms, causes, and how to correct the problem. It will also list what vehicles are affected.
A tsb is not a recall so repairs on a tsb may not be covered by a warranty.

As for loving the g8. They are great cars! Handle very well, decently quick, and have very nice and comfortable interiors. I don't regret trading my ws6 for mine at all.

i have 111k on mine and it rides and drives better than new. it doesn't cost much to replace the wearable parts of the suspension and unlike a vette of f body, the structure stays as rock solid as day one.. if you buy one you will not regret it.. they're amazing sport sedans.

Is it a "MUST" to find a 09.5 year model, and what exactly a "sport package" option consists of?

Sport package includes 19" wheels and various trim items - pedal trim and stuff like that.

09.5 has factory bluetooth. My wife was PISSED after she bought her 09 and found out later that it was an early 09 with no bluetooth.

At least that's a simple fix. Gotta keep the Mrs. happy or nobody's happy...

I have an early 09, bought it new. I have around 38,000 on it now. The LCAs and lifters are probably the most prevalent things to go wrong. I got rid if the lifters when I did my cam swap since I got rid of all the DOD components. They changed to a new design at some point, so the ones in your car could be the upgrade anyway. Other than a few trim pieces fading too quick or some rubber chipping my car is close to how it felt new. Although its a little faster now.
