Default Difference between the 05' and 06' goats

Hey guys, I am looking into possibly purchasing a gto as my next toy. I was wondering if there was a difference between the 05' and 06' goats? I definitely want the LS2 and they both come equipped with that. Anything I should be looking for when buying?

Thanks

on the '06 there's lighted steering wheel controls, console unlock button, color options and of course the 18" wheels and black tails. that's most of it

the 05s have 18s also

i believe the 06s have problems doing footbrake burnouts due to a sensor and 06s also have lots of strut rub issues

ya, i was going from memory. i guess i haven't seen many '05s with 18"s but lots of '06s. they both have problems with strut rub especially with the 18"s plus the drive by wire was glitchy

almost identical. find the best one and get it. the '04s, in case you're interested, are a lot more sleeper (i happen to like that) with a flat hood to match the GT road car that it is and single side exhaust like a BMW. the '04 was also the only one to have the Australian computer that has lean cruise capability. it's nice because as i modded up my car i kept my stock gas highway mileage

Only reason that I would like to go with the 05-06's are because of the LS2 over the LS1....

06's also had an internal lock switch for the doors and faster seat motors.

Will do man. Oddly enough all I am really finding are the 06's which is fine by me. I've found a few with sub 10k miles on them which is also great. They are all around $23000 in price which I guess is about right??

I really am liking the blue color that is almost a dull gray and the spiced red... The spiced red being my favorite. Only problem is they are next to impossible to find with the M6 which is what I am wanting with low miles.

if you put heads on the ls1 you will have as much power as the ls2 ...you can probaly find a 04 alot cheaper than 05 06 and have money for that blower..lol good hunting

Yeah, I like the larger displacement of the LS2. Also, th styling cues of the 05-06 are more to my liking.

you can to an 05. I did it. Repalce the 05 clock spring and wheel mounted radio controls from an 06. Simple plug and play. Just be careful removing the air bag. There are several write ups on the ls1gto forum, including one that I did.
