Turbo kit opinion
So guys I'm looking to go FI and I got contacted by a guy wanting to sell me a OFI turbo kit. It comes with a GT4082 and Lucas 42# injectors. He said all I need to do is fabb a downpipe..and some oil fittings....what do you guys think of this kit? Also what value do you think it has? Lastly, any idea on how many hours of labor to install this? Thanks.
This is for a 06 M6 GTO

Plus once an OFI kit has been on a GTO im guessing it is safe to assume that it has been fabbed and changed enough to go on another one. ANd this specific kit has already been on 2 GTOs.

A fixed ofi kit wouldnt be so bad. Ky turbo never produced a kit because of fitment issues of the same kit on multiple cars. So keep this in mind if your buying a used kit, you mind need to make some small adjustments. The gen-ttr kit is a nitemare. I helped install a kit and it was nothing but a constant headache. It had flanges welded on wrong and a pipes that would not fit. The aps kit seemed to fit great but is no longer produced. Aps also had horrible customer service.
I purchased a sts kit in 06 because i wanted a turbo kit and the only other kit at the time was the original aps kit that cost 9K. I have never had any major issues but I have re-worked some small parts of the kit. Another thing to do would be to fab up your own rear mount, or take you car to a shop and have a turbo kit fabbed up. There are many gto's with a custom front mount.

Going turbo isn't cheap, doing things twice isn't cheap either, so I would just find a NICE kit that is known to work and fit well and be done with it the first time.

His point was that it has been on two seperate GTOs and neither one has finished "making it fit" and sold it instead. Will you be #3?

And im not planning on doing anything to my car other then selling it in the near future so i will not be purchasing any mods period.
