widest tires on stock 04 gto rims?
Anybody know what the widest tires possible are for the stock 04 gto rims? Im willing to drop down in aspect ratio from 45 to 40 if need be. Thanks!

depends what brand. Some run more narrow than others. I've seen plenty of people with a 275 without problems. If it does rub, take 30 mins and cut the lip off the fender. Not hard to do.
either way though, I don't see a 275 being a problem. My buddy has 275 555R's and they don't rub. I've had NT05Rs, ET Streets, and never had a problem.

You should do some suspension and/or fender work to put on a 275. Unless you buy the right tire, some are skinnier than others.
The GTO hub has a 5x120.00mm bolt circle diameter. The offset is 48 mm for both 17-inch wheels. The GTO wheels have 8.0 inch wide rims.
17's Rear: 275/40/17 fit no problems on a 17x9" wheel These stick out just a little more than the factory tires. Recommendation for 17" wheels: 17x9" wheel rear w/ 275/40/17 tires
The wider wheel helps keep the tire in line and prevent rubbing.

I don't want to have to do any sort of messing with the car. Just want to have them put on then go lol. I planned on keeping 245s up front but wanted something a little wider in the back. Maybe il do 265 or 255 idk... im new to this if you haven't figured that out yet...

There are tons of threads on the internet on this, do some google searching. Some of it has to do with rear cradle alignment as well. My brother tried 275s on stock suspension and no mods and it rubbed so he pulled them off. Some people have no problems.... Good luck.

Some 275's will be fine, but you won't be able to use all the tread, as it will slightly pull the outside of the tire inward to stick to the rim. I run 275/40/17 Nitto NT05's. I will be going to 255 or 265 Star Spec's next

i run the nitto nt05r 275/40/17 in the rear with the stock wheel with no rubbing issues. No cutting or rolling of fender needed. Would not recomennd this tire in the rain on a daily driver due to the lack of tread in center of tire. Used to run the nt555r when i still drove it daily. See avatar, this is the nt05r.

Think what you want the tires were cheap and I like the look of the rim. I have a set or MR116 rims that I really didn't like but they seem to be much more common swap. I haven't seen anyone else run solstice wheels
Not getting butt hurt here, opinions are opinions. I really wish the 265 or 275 had of been on sale because that is to much tire for those size rim's but they work and I am still trapping 115+ and not sliding in second!
They look better in person
