I plastidipped mine, but left the "GTO" silver.

Took the front bumper, took the grilles out, took the "GTO" lettering off and removed all the left over double sided tape, painted the grilles, glued letters back on the grilles, reinstalled.

Closer up pic:

I think the SAP grilles make the GTO look more like a grand prix, IMHO.

That's what a big *** GTO banner on the windshield and the embossed bumper is for, to help the confused.

Good use of Plasti Dip

I tried satin black paint first, chipped within 1,000 miles, plasti-dip has held up for 5,000+ miles, no chipping.

I painted my grills a long while back with some black bumper paint. To keep the GTO clear I just had a bottle of rubbing alcohol and Q-tips handy and waited for the paint to get a bit tacky before just wiping them clean each coat. Worked out great.

I currently have mine deleted. I trimmed the frame from the honeycomb, sanded, painted and installed for a grill delete. My personal favorite.

A Svede painted red or something like that would look great behind this.

Here's a few shots of my gloss black kidney grilles. Has been 2 years since they were painted and no chips at all. I'm happy with them.
