I've always used dental floss or fishing string. Works great. Take off the excess adhesive left on the car with rubbing alcohol, and then clay bar/wax the area.

BAM! done.

What I did:
1. Heat gun to warm up the adhesive
2. Dental floss to remove the badges
3. Goo gone to remove leftover adhesive.
4. Clay/Wax to protect.

Awesome, thanks. I'm going to do that after work. I dont have a heat gun but maybe a hair drier will work.

You don't really need a heat gun, I've never used one.

Yea, I've done it before without a heatgun. But in my experience, the heat lets the adhesive come off easier. That in turns means less rubbing with the goo gone and less chance of swirl marks on the paint. The swirls are going to be especially noticeable on black cars.

Do the GTO badges on the sides come off the same way?

Just asking b/c on the Lightning I had you could peel some badges off but others you had to snap off and there were holes behind.

There is a big hole on the side ones and arrowheads. floss and M3 adhesive remover works.

Big hole on the side ones. After removing them, weld up the holes and repaint the fender.

Or you could put a side marker where the side badges are.
