I've been running the B&M and love it. It is a bit notchy but I like it. It feels solid and I haven't missed a gear in it yet. My buddys 04 has the race GMM ripshift and it is probably the best shifter for the GTO but damn expensive. If you wnt something better than stock for cheap go with the B&M.

409CISecondGen Is right again those are the top three contenders I have broken two B&Ms snapped the stalks clean off
I ran a 12.82 at 110 bone stock so I can drive (conditions were perfect so that helped) . Billet products JHP shifter is the best mod I have made to date.

Lou Short Stick is the easiest to install. No dropping the transmission for it. Can be done in an hour. None of the others are this easy or inexpensive.

I have the MGW-P and have had the opportunity to try a Billet.
The MGW-P is impressive. It is precise and notchy with a relatively light throw and doesn't feel like its made entirely from rubber like the stock shifter. The throw is shorter than stock. It's also the cheapest of the three.
After trying the Billet I was shocked. The Billet is a much, much shorter throw than the MGW-P, it's extremely tight and notchy, but also extremely heavy. If you don't mind the super heavy throw and steeper price it's a good choice.
All that said, I have never heard anyone go to one of those three shifters and not be satisfied. It is like debating which is a better upgrade from a Geo Metro: F430, Gallardo, or ZR1.

I agree GMM , MGW and Billet. But it all depends how much you want to spend on a shifter. LSS is a great upgrade from stock . I also personally hated my b&m , so I went with the Hurst (a gift) , and its ok but I will be buying a MGW soon
