In cooler weather it might be somewhat safer to run lower octane but in the summer I wouldnt run less than 91. Becides, that saves you what $2 per tank vs mid grade? That is probably no more than $100 or $150 a year assuming you fill up about once a week.
The owners manual suggests 93 octane but in many areas 91 is the best you can get. I wouldnt put anything lower than 89 in it unless it was an emergency and thats all I could get. I pass stations that dont have at least 91.

When I first got mine I tried a tank of 87 just to see what difference it made. I could definitely feel the loss of power and lost about 10% in fuel economy, which actually makes it MORE expensive to run because you're burning more 87 per mile than the difference in price. So, I went back to 91 and have never looked back.

The dealer I bought my car from filled it up with 87 before they gave it to me... I wish I could have talked them out of it, but they did it before I even knew it was happening. Car ran fine, but yeah, it got about 2-3 mpg less than it does now. Took me a while to work that tank of gas out of it the car.

Just use the 91. It's only a $1.80 more per tank than the 89 and $3.60 more per tank than the 87. If you are worried about that much money "per tank compleat fill up" than why did you buy a sports car? IMO
