Default Nasty Front End Shake 75+ MPH

OK, so I have been trying to fix my front end shake since last fall. I have a 2004 GTO A4 and this is what I have tried so far:

1) Rotate rims from front to back
2) New tires
3) Pedders 'fix' - Radius rod bush., sway bar bush. & endlinks, X-member bush.
4) Checked the wheel bearings - better than new according to the measurements
5) Checked the rotors for 'flatness' - OK
6) Cleaned the hub/rotor/rim faces and re-torqued everything to spec. (many times)

Anyone got any other ideas?

Struts don't have anything to do with that.

Have you checked hub run-out? That is probably the only thing that would cause it since you eliminated everything else. I don't remember off top of my head, but if it's more than certain value, you need new hubs.

Sounds like la warped hub. If some one at one point cranked down on the wheels with an impact gun then it could have warped it.

When you say hub, you are talking about the rotor face (top hat)?

My guess would be a warped rotor..how did you verify flatness?? Are all your lugs torqued to the same specs??

The actual hub that the rotor attaches too. If you take the front rotor off you can try and measure run out on the hub itself.

My guess is the rims are bent. If you still have the stock 17" wheels, get rid of them! I had the same problem with my stock 17's and replaced with ROH Drift-R's and shake went away! There is no guarantee that this is the problem but I would check it anyway.

Are the wheels loaded with weights? If so bent rim.

I didn't notice a lot of weights on the rims. Besides, I rotated them from front to back and the shake did not go away. I don't see how all 4 rims can be bent.

Did you just rotate them or have them balanced as well? Just because they are bent doesn't mean that they will take alot of weight. I have balanced some pretty nasty wheels and only had to put on 1.5 ounces.
