I think it depends on the part of the country you are in, plus the fact that gas is >$4/gallon. Generally, I think the prices have stayed the same since last fall (6+ months). In PA/NJ the prices have been $20-25k for an '05-'06 depending on mileage/condition, while the '04s are going for $16-19k depending on mileage/condition.

i would agree, same here in tx, i bought mine last dec. for $18k. as for any f-cars staying in the high teens, it has to be a collector/anniversary edition or a unique car with tasteful mods, otherwise the 02's are down in the $10k range.

the one for 16.9 has 47k miles, thats out of the 20-40k window you specified.
the link i posted has plenty more than the 4 you posted, and you said you could get an '06 gto, not '05 and '06 like in your last post.
if you click the link that i posted originally of only '06' you can see this at the bottom of the page based on the 111 2006 GTO's listed on autotrader.
Range of prices for all 06 models only:
Highest Price:$39,000
Lowest Price:$18,988
Average Price:$24,789
Range of prices for all 05 models only:
Highest Price: $27,650
Lowest Price: $13,475
Average Price: $22,511
i would say they are holding their value just fine, considering the average price of 05 and 06. yes, higher mileage like 47k the prices obviously start to fall, but to you say can find a 06 m6 gto with 20-40k for 18 is a bit far fetched.

if i was buying mine for a collectors item then i would be a lil upset........ but mine is daily driven and has most misinformed of being slo, and i like it cause people tend to bite off more then they can chew. dont get me wrong it aint no ZO6 but its not a 96 formula either

To the O.P., there are tons of factors to take into account with these cars and F-Bodys. I would say the F-Bodys are more in demand, which will drive up the price a little. If you ask 10 people on the street if they know what a Firebird or Camaro is, 8 of them would know. Ask those same people about a new GTO, and maybe 1 or 2 will know about them
To each his/her own. If I wanted a *****-out fast car with great cheap modding potential and great in the 1/4, I would have gotten an F-Body. However, I D.D. mine and needed a little more comfort and I don't track the car. Plus, you don't see them everywhere like F-Bodys, which is a perk for me.
The resale on these cars (GTOs) has always been an issue, so it's nothing new. Compared to how bad they were depreciating before, I'd say it has slowed down in the past year+ as I have been watching them for that long.
