Default SS + 120mph + brake hop = rally car :)

Guess I forgot to post this here from a couple weeks back. Running @ buttonwillow #1CW ~120mph into the star mazda turn. Jumped from WOT to full brake (13" stoptechs with carbotech XP12s) too fast! Whoops!

Nice...I hated that breaking axle trap. It seems to have went away when I lowered the carwith relocated lca's. What seats are those?

No ABS? I managed to confuse my ABS/TCS once at Texas World Speedway and it went inoperative. I didn't know it until coming off the main straight at 130+ and it started doing that. I managed to recover though. I did not know how much I was using the ABS until then. I think that was running Hawk HPS pads, which were not very consistent at that speed.

Car has ABS. Seats are MemFabs (not sure if they are still in biz). They are Kevlar and weigh under 10lbs. I borrowed them from my drag car until the twin kit is done on it. Dirt was EVERYWHERE. Spent a LONG time detailing it throughout the next week as I keep this car show room floor clean.

Also, that was my buddy riding shotty. Not the first time I took him on a wild ride but he definitly was a cool customer while spinning off track at ~100mph lol.

What is the rational behind running with the windows down? Is that encouraged or discouraged? I know at a dragstrip they make you put the windows up.

Glad you're ok, it could have been a lot worse for certain.

If this was an HPDE or something similiar, you have the window down to give passing and pit-in signals.

Aside from the rally part that looked really fun. Was the car fine except for the dirt?

Yea, windows are required to be down. Lame. The car was fine after 2+ hours of detailing just the interior.

And I guess they go by Memoryfab now, I bought the seats YEARS ago and I thought they were called Memfab, who knows. I peeped their website too, it does blow. It wasnt great back then either but a friend of mine had the seats and I really liked them for the price. I think I got both shipped for ~$850. They are perfect if you are under 190lbs......which I am not

Never ran into that need

Also, I don;t see a need for the passenger window to be down, and if I ever need to point by I imagine a window rolled down a few inches would suffice.

Lol if you arent needing to give point bys then you might want to run in a faster group.

they might also want it rolled down to keep the chance of glass flying into your face from an impact.

So far I have always been the fastest car in my group when I go out....except one time there was an old school "regular" to the buttonwillow scene driving a new grandsport on R6s. He had a solid second on me per lap.

I would like to run in the faster, open passing run groups but I still don't have alllll that many track days under my belt. Plus I'm still sketch on some idiot not leaving enough room for a clean pass and we end up trading paint. My car is wayyyyyyyy to nice for that. 50k miles, 2nd owner SS with ZERO door dings or scratches, and paint is smooth a waxed va......er, babys butt I mean!

I've ran @ Infineon too. There is footage of that on my youtube channel. Looking forward to running Laguna Seca and Thunder Hill in the next year. I have about $2500 in modifications I need to save for before my next outting: new tires, UETA and LCAs/brackets....so it will be a while.

Plus I just bought an '04 duramax so I have a lot of nick/nacks I'm doing to that too. Probably won't hit the track again until Spring.
