I'm looking for suggestions for a steering wheel for my 02 z28. It sees track time regularly in the summer/spring, and I occasionally street drive it on weekends and such. I'd like a horn button, but that's about all I'd need. I want something smaller than stock with a better feel for road racing. I'm slowly upgrading my driver interface mods this winter. I'm also not exactly small (5'11", 290lbs), and I'm having trouble with the stocker compromising ideal driving position with being able to physically fit in the car.
I'm also welcoming seat suggestions. I'm sure I'm not the only fat guy road racing one of these...
The best mod I did for my 95 was a Corbeau Forza seat with Corbeau dual locking slider and a 5 pt harness. Hands down those are the first things I will do to ANY car I plan to autocross in the future.
I'm still on the stock steering wheel but since mine is a 90% DD, I can't bring myself to get rid of the airbag.

...and Corbeau has different sizes of their seats. I've got the medium one in my car. OP, if you live in the south 'burbs, you can take a look if you want.
I live up in Chicago proper, but work in the far south side. I've looked around the Corbeau site and think the wide MIGHT work. I need to cut some pounds anyway...

How did you decide on a racetech wheel? Looks identical to a Momo wheel. The more I look into wheels, they all seem to be very close in design and you are paying for the name brand.
Just completed.... Need to race to feel it out, but loving the flat bottom and smaller wheel for leg space, not sure about hand over hand vs not ever crossing over.

Do you feel like the NRG quick release pushes the wheel to close to your body? I just did a similar install.
I just put a new one in, a 350 mm Momo Millennium EVO with a NRG adapter and a Sparco 2" extension. I am 6' 1" and hated the stock steering wheel location when my legs were comfortably stretched out.
I use the car for track days, autocross and a little street cruising.
Never thought about the possibility of an extension like that. How much do they run? Do they make adjustable ones? I'd like to be able to play with it a little to get the best setup.
