Had fun at the event testing out the new setup. I've got a lot of learning to do, the car is way more capable than it was before and it feels good with the extra power!
Finally got to run the car, I've still got a lot more learning to do with it and felt I left with a few seconds to gain. Fastest of the day for me was a 60.3, FTD on course was a Z06 w/ 56.1. It tracks through the corners better and it feels great to have 80 more whp and tq available, even if this was a tight miata-ish course in some of it so the whole run was in 1st gear.
I feel the 275s are a good start for me this season as it will help me at least learn more about the car and get some seat time. The BFG Rivals were very predictable but I'm not sure I even found their limits. The icy stuff was from all the gravel kicked up as the event wore on.
• I need a harness, I found myself fighting to stay in position a lot.
• Proper coilovers will have to be something to look into once I move up to a wider tire.
• I need more seat time.

Looks like a fairly quick momentum course.
I 100% agree with adding a seat/harness and I would even say a steering wheel plus seat time. Adding coilovers just because of a wider tire I'm not too sold on.
Plenty of people running 315's (200TW and or slicks) and are not on coilovers. Myself included.
Keep an eye on hubs...investigate SKF and adapters.

1. Sea of cones like that makes it difficult to pick out important ones and determine where the course goes.
2. It makes it a nightmare for people to work those sections and slows the event down while they rebuild the course.
Groups like that need those cones taken away from them, those type of people will almost never fix it on their own.

Yup, it limits the room you have to wiggle where one car needs a wide entry where others can just tuck it in like nothing.
The cone death wasn't bad this time, I think highest kill count on one run was 3 this time around.
Other PCA events I've seen elsewhere used more of the SCCA style of cone layouts so I need to try and hit up a few DFW events before I try to go to nationals so maybe I don't get my dick kicked in as badly.

Nationals always kicks your dick in on your first trip, and most of the time many more trips as well.

While going to a national event would be an experience, I'm not sure I will ever make one.
Not sure at what point I will feel comfortable enough (driving wise) to go and think I can hold my own. I suppose some year I actually buy NEW tires would be a good start LOL.

So you think I can drive and do well or because they can't drive I should do well LOL I think I'm OK, long way to go though.
I need more time on big open courses to feel the car at higher speed.

I don't mean to say you shouldn't go to nationals, quite the opposite. Everyone always says it is a great experience and well worth it, but fragile egos need not apply.
