Default Do slicks go bad?? anyone

i have a set of hoosiers that have been in my garage for 2 1/2 to 3 years. They have been to the track once or twice(3 yrs ago). Are they still good?? They have plenty of rubber left, but does rubber go bad after a period? They have been stored in cool conditions pretty much around 60-75 degrees the past 3 yrs.
If they are still good...would it be safe to sell them to someone else for track use?,.. (they were pretty $$ ) or should i just get ridda them?

i duno if this is the right department so feel free to move this post

thx
-jon

You could sell them to me.

Or try Formula V from Jegs. I used it on my Kumho's and it seemed to work well.

What hurts them (or rather what takes life out of them) is excessive heat cycles and the sun.

Since they have been stored in a cool covered place you are good to go there, but how many full heat cycles have they been through?

if i were to guess i would say less than 5 full cycles for 15 or 20 mins at a time on the track. (a heat at a club day)
what do you think?

Tires that sit in a basement that aren't in a plastic bag , usually dry out from ozone that is produced from electric appliances.

I don't know about the ozone thing, but if they wern't sealed from the air, they will dry and crack. However with such little life taken from them they could be raced on again, they just wouldn't last as long.
