i use baseball batting gloves for driving. they work really well, are light and thin. they also are made od spandex type material on the back side. plus they are cheap and easy to find locally.

I'll back up the Alpine stars. I use the F1-R. these feel great on the wheel, especially if you have a suede aftermarket wheel.

And I also use the F1-R shoes. I love them, great pedal feel and a little "bling bling" to go with them.

I race shifter karts and we use Mechanix gloves. I've used Sparco and other popular gloves, but they give you blisters because they're thin. It depends on your racing type use. Me---no suspension and racing slicks(lots of hand friction), car with power steering and large wheel(low friction) etc.....Sparco's are comfortable and well made, you can't go wrong. sparco-usa.com
