Default What is the Lt1 version of the MS3 cam?

What cam grind for the LT1 would be the same as the Ms3 cam for Ls1?

What do you mean by the same? Same rwhp? Same sound? Same grind?

Same grind.

I would guess the sound would come with it.

We dont have cool names for cams like MagicStick 3 and StreetSweeper etc etc. Just get the specs, call someone who grinds, and tell them. But LS engines work differently than ours.

MS3 is 237/242 0.603/0.609 on a 111 to 115 LSA, our motors like 110 a little more with that much lift. Like I said, LS and LT motors like different things.

Just go custom grind. Ls1's have a different power band. I can't imagine just throwing in an ls1 grind cam would work too well.

In terms of internet forum nomenclature the CC306 would be the equivalent of the MS3

....and they're both ******* junk!

Because your brothers cousin had one in a f-body oncet and you raced from a roll and beat it with only rockers to come up with such an overly educated opinion. How could a 306 be junk when it has been responsible for putting so many LT1's into the 11's before you were ever around? Combos back then were hodge podge. There were no custom grinds or custom heads/cam packages available and it still did well. Better than most of the average custom LE setups these days.

The cc306 would be the closest comparison for an off the shelf grind

You really need to access what you want to do this car. Once you know what you want to achieve give LE or AI a call and have them spec you h/c package to meet your goal. Do not just put a big *** cam in and think its going to perform. It may sound nasty but without a matching setup its a waste

Just ask the company to sell you an ms3 for your lt1. Its no problem they do this sort of stuff all the time.

I understand you are looking for a cam that is similar to the Ls series grind however, I can assure you that both motors require much different specs, events etc. In other words you will never get the same sound, performance or drivability. The motors are just too different.....
