!AIR question.
Okay guys started the process of removing the AIR BS, I was just wondering what I should do with the vacuum line that was on top of the "horn looking thing". I have no clue what its called, should I just cap it or?

Ok someone else is going to have to jump in here. I have a 98 and I'm positive i don't have that vacuum line. The only thing close to it that i have is the vacuum line on the back of the intake manifold. This appears to be on the driver side and i have nothing over there.

If it stopped the vents from operating then its definitely vacuum related and not part of the A.I.R. When you lose vacuum to the hvac controls, the air only blows through the defrost. the A.I.R. system is only to warm up the catalytic converters on startup so that the cats operate efficiently. Cats need to be hot to burn up excess emissions.

hmm interesting, cuz that lil acorn thingy was connected to the AIR system as well. and that lil line that is pictured above was left dangling. part of vacuum line i believe. cuz there was 3 hoses connected to it if i recall, 1 for each of the manifolds and 1 leading to the pump. and that lil line was connected on top.

I'm pretty sure the other end of that hose should be connected to the back of your intake manifold. I believe if you remove the other end of that hose, then you can cap the nipple it came off of on the back of the intake. At least that's how I interpreted the other threads on this topic. I'm going to remove the AIR system on mine soon.

That's either the hose to the back of the intake or to the T line at back side of engine bay on driver side, either way, just cap the nipple it was pulled off of and you shouldn't have any problems. Did the exact thing on my Firehawk and intend to do the same on my '98 WS6 pretty soon.

The only vacuum line that needs to be attached to anything is the line coming out of the harness on the passenger side take the T fitting form the back of the intake and plug the line coming From the harness directly into the back of the intake and throw the rest of the fittings and lines in the trash.
