Goal is to make a relatively cheap (quiet) street friendly comfortable car, not a track car. Using factory wheels and a 245/50/16 Nitto drag radials with traction control. Will be on E85, non-intercooled. Hoping to finish this thing for as far under 10k as possible.
Spent 3k on the Roller. It’s a beater on the outside. Original 4 cyl car. Lots of hail dents, scratches, missing paint etc. So I won’t be afraid to drive it anywhere and the inside is in decent shape.
Came with the following:
AJE tubular K-member, Control Arms, and coil overs (front only).
Granitellie caster/camber plates.
Flaming river manual rack
Maximum motorsports adjustable tie rod ends, and steering shaft
Cervinis Cobra R hood
New carpet & headliner
Aftermarket seats
Dynamat entire floor pan
B&M hammer shifter
Misc gauges/pods
8.8 rear
Turbos arrived! 72/68’s T3 housing that they claimed was a .84 (looks much larger). Look to have little extended tip compressor wheels on them. Hoping it’s a “new age” copy compressor wheel and puts out some good flow.

Not my thing at all, as I don't care for the look of the fox body or how they drive, but it sounds like it will work very well for what your goals are.
Doesn't look too bad for $3k. What's the plan for the motor?
Undecided. I have 2 LS engines sitting here. Have a gen4 alum 5.3 that’s apart. Been tempted to make a low compression engine and have all the parts to do it. But these turbos are larger housing wise than I was thinking for “.84 T3’s”. Housings are every bit as large as my 1.24AR T4 S476. I don’t think a low compression motor is going to spool these turbo’s very well. I have a gen4 4.8 sitting here as well, most likely it will go in.

Honestly I don’t like them either! But I’m tired of fabricating parts. With mustangs massive aftermarket part world, I’ll be able to bolt-on just about anything I need for a reasonable price. Guys are getting these notch backs lighter than my rx-7 with nothing but bolt on parts. Figure I’ll be inside the car most of the time, so I don’t have to look at it!

Lol, good points sir. The few I drove, I didn't care for how it felt, but I totally understand the cheap light platform with cheap options for aftermarket. I have always thought a new Pontiac Solstace or a Porsche 944 would be awesome to do a turbo LS swap, but neither are aftermarket cheap like the stang.

Exactly why I got away from 240Zs and RX7s, much as I love them. Not to mention I have trouble fitting in them with a 10pt cage
I'll make the turbo kit, do the wiring, and fuel system. I'm hoping that's about all the fab work I'll need to do. Aknovaman is going to build the basic plug and play MS3/LS harness.

Removing all the unnecessary wiring and crap. Down to ignition, head lights, wipers, and interior fan. Can't decided if I want to keep the heater at this point or not. This bucket was over 55lbs last I checked. Gets heavier every day!
Did a little pressure cleaning and rattle canned the engine bay. Previous owner used some sort of spray on some bed liner. (and managed to overspray half the car with the stuff). I hated the flat black, so I went with a satin black. Looks much better IMO. Pulled a good 3 lbs worth of wet leaves/mud form the fenders and in the wiper area behind the firewall. Surprisingly, no real rust to speak of though.
Few of my china goodies came in. $144 rear sump oil pan.
$50 044 surge tank. (got 2 of these in case 1 AEM380 isn't enough)
roastin240 hooked me up with 2 of these for $115 shipped. Not my first choice color wise, but saved me a little $.
Kinda stuck at this point. I really need a trans so I can get the motor positioned to work on the turbo kit. Can’t find a mildly built TH400 within 200 miles of me! Pretty frustrating. May have to build a core if I can’t find something soon, that’s never the cheap route!
where did you get the china pan? wish you had motor in to see the clearance. I currently have a muscle car pan in my turbo lsx swapped SN95 mustang and I think its too damn low.

Looks like a Wyntomn gate. I've got the same one (in black though). I took it apart and checked it out. Everything looked pretty good. Lapped the valve for piece of mind and measured the stem/guide clearance. Ended up being around .0015"-.002". Sealed it back up, good to go.
Why use a surge tank instead of just a 400 450 in tank pump
It accomplishes the same thing as adding a sump to the OEM fuel tank without all the work. (wont uncover pump inlet on hard launches and low fuel levels.) Also allows me to use the OEM fill neck and fuel level sensors.

Scored a pretty healthy TH400, just rebuilt, zero run time. Was behind a buddies 1000hp SBC with a 300 shot on top. Should be more than enough for the mustang. Hope to test fit the motor/trans this weekend.
Should be a fun car. Nice score on the trans. I see it already has an aftermarket bellhousing on it. I take it that it is a RMVB transbrake transmission?

Yup. I was really wanting a simple glide setup, but couldn't find anything. 3-speed will probably be nicer to street drive with the goofy tall 2.73 gear I plan to run anyway.
