Default 315 street tire for 6-700rwhp boosted?

Obviously I know this doesn't exist as in hooking well. Are there any tires on the market that are DECENT for this power range? Have all supporting suspension mods done already as well. I know I need a drag radial to actually hook but I mean for street driving, what is a decent option as in.. not a joke like the sumishitties that will spin 3rd gear on a stock car, but also don't expect to hook like hoosier slicks here. Just a decent like. not spinning in 4th gear when warmed up would be nice? ahah

Before anyone asks yes I am keeping the 4.10s in the rear.. and I'm going to be with turbo in a week or so.

So you want a pure street tire...not a drag radial of any sort?

For driving around town yea, unless there is a drag radial that is friendly still for street driving and turns

Actually there is. Have you ever heard of the Nitto 555R? If not it might be the compromise you are looking for

I have used them before for a short time. Aren't they soft sidewall though and run super skinny? As in, the 315's look like 275s?

Yeah the 315 555r does run a little narrow, but it's wider than any 275 that I've seen. It's probably the longest lasting and best handeling drag radial out there. I got close to 15k out of a set back in the day. The Toyo Proxes TQ dr is another good option. Runs really wide and handles and wears almost as good as the Nitto. With 600 plus hp you really need a drag radial of some sort to even have a chance of some decent traction

If I'm buying a 315 I want a 315. I had the 555r's a long time ago way back when I was bolt ons and it was laughable how small it runs. Almost as if you get ripped off paying for a 315 and getting a 285. lol. NT05 was one of the main ones I am looking at. Runs true to size and hooks decent.

315 GY GS-D3 is a great hooking pure radial tire. I had those on the back with my 427ci and they would light up of course, but roll into the throttle hard and they hooked. They hooked for me, much better than the BFG drag radial I tried.

And the GS-D3 is seriously badass in wet conditions, they stick great.

They are nice but the price of those.. lol. 1 tire is the cost of like 2 drag radials. No way in hell am I paying $800 for 2 tires. I'm toss up between NT05 & Toyo drag radials. Kinda leaning torwards nt05's

The NTO5 does pretty good for a fair priced street tire, but compared to the Toyo TQ it's nowhere near as good as good in terms of traction. IMO, 600 plus hp is simply to much for any street tire unless you don't mind spinning at 60 mph lol

I'm running Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial IIs with 840 rwhp and they hook decently and as long as you don't try to run 60 miles per hour on the highway they aren't too bad in the rain. Only about $210ish a tire.

im running proxes tq 315's on rear. it was that or nittos for me. I'm a turbo car all street and well over 700rwhp.. I was looking for same thing. something that cornered atleast decent but yet could hold some power at the same time. so far these are better than anything I've tried

And as far as them not holding, power management goes a long way with a street car

So you're suggesting those for street also? Are they ok for driving around and cornering traction?

these are tires so you will have different opinions, but yeah I've used mt's, and nitto nto5r's and now these proxes. the mickeys for sure held the best as far as Tracton but for cornering not so much. honestly on my car the nto5rs and the tqs are very close as far as Traction and handling go. to me they handled about the sa me but Im now finding that the proxes seem to hook little better . but as mentioned above, the nittos don't run quite as wide for sure which I think is why they didn't hook as well for me. also I'm lowered n have koni adjustables, along with mwc 9 inch topped off with strange-s track so my setup may not react exactly the same as yours. IMHO you can't go wrong with either tire. wether you hook or not will depend on multiple other things

How wide are they? I have the nitto555r's. On hot Florida pavement they grab good and corner very good. Just got the nt05R's want to try those at the track soon. Only got a 1.71 60 with the 555r.

I won't lie I have not mea sure them yet with a tape but I can tomorrow and tell you a for sure number. if I had to guess I would say 11 inches wide. the tqs are wider than what my nitto nt05rs were I can say that for certain. seems like every nitto I've had has always looked slightly smaller to me.

I'm currently using nt05s for my front tires. great tires, but I seriously doubt they would hold much if your planning on using them for the rear. guess it depends on your driving habits.jump on nittos website. their own website even says they made the nt05r to be in the rear of a high powered street car meant to be paired with the nt05 tire for the front.
