So does this mean if a person where to order street size wheel backs like 17" or 18" in low pad they would fit and have a bigger lip also?

He is referring to the center piece you are showing being set deeper into the barrel of the wheel. Since the pad height it lower, the center can be set deeper into the barrel without changing the offset relation of the mounting pad to the wheel lip
Look at the picture. How is there not LESS "lip" on the low pad in comparison the the medium?

Yes, low pad will always have more lip than medium and high pad if they are in the same width and same backspace.

The picture that shows the low/medium/high pad difference isn't a very accurate determination on how much further the low pad sets the dish in. The hub thickness gets thicker and thicker the more you go up in pad height, thus making less room for "lip". The pictures I posted of what I ordered vs the all polished medium pad wheel for comparison purposes shows the difference pretty good. ALSO, notice how my lug nuts come out further, as where the medium pad wheel's lug nuts are fully recessed down into the hole. Basically, if you want to have more dish in the same backspace, go with low pad. I would LOVE to see what these wheels look like in low pad with the 3" narrowed rears that many guys are doing. It already looks deep & killer in medium pad, I could only imagine how deep with low pad. IMO, I think low pad is a must do if you have a stock length rear end if you want any kind of dish. The medium pad in a 7.5" backspace almost makes the face of the wheel look "flat" to me....

This is a stock width rear correct? The dish on that wheel is sick. Can't wait to see what this will look like with a 4.5" BS and my narrowed rear

Your going to absolutely love it! People think mine already looks narrowed because of the dish. But its stock width!

No problem, I wanted to take the risk, cause it was the only way I wanted these wheels. They are 17x5 with 2.9" backspace, low pad
Rears are 15x10.275 with 7.5" backspace , low pad. Hoosier 275 drag radials in and M&H 185 front drag radial tire. PM me I can find some part numbers

So this will fit a stock length rear end without grinding down the inside of the quarter panel ?! How low is the car? My goal with my ta is the same look just a little bit lower but I want to run a 15x8 not a 15x10. Also does anybody know how much wider a trans am quarter panel is compared to a Camaro ?

Yes I am on a stock length rear. It is pretty low, strano springs with the hose mod. My 15x10's have plenty of room

looks great...I was wondering about the low pads also. I'm looking at running a 17/15 combo on my s10. I have ls1 calipers on the front of my truck and 96 impala ss rear brakes. I might need to rethink everything now. I was already planning low pads on the rear 15x10s, but planning high pads on the 17s for the front. Maybe I can get away with the lows or meds on my setup.

I've been looking at welds on their site. Seems often times their options are restricted on what you can get as far as pad height. Prettty frustrating. Firehawk looks amazing!

I just tried to build this wheel (rear) on welds website, and I could not. They don't even have a 10.275 option. They have a 10.333 with a low pad but only with the 5x120 bolt pattern

Bumping this. I just received my wheels. That part number DOES NOT FIT stock unmodified brakes. I'm going to assume that someone ground down badfbodyz rear calipers before he took ownership of the car. There is absolutely no way these wheels fit stock unmodified calipers in a low pad setup.
